Well, I'm interesting in one question, when do you usually have a morning sickness

Morning

afternoon

evening

night

all day

How to deal with it?

Which medications can I take for morning sickness during pregnancy?

All day and night. I am violently sick at night. It gets worse everyday.

Tried flat coke which did help a tiny bit to start with. I went to my pharmacist as someone told me to take travel sickness tablets. He said you can take them but they are unlicensed for pregnant women. He said to speak to my doctor. My step daughter was prescribed one and then another as the first didn't work. She is still sick at 31 weeks. She used to come round crying and now I know why.

Ginger biscuits, lemon, lemonade.. none of which help me.

😣😣😣

I did try lemon but it didn't help me though

As for Ginger biscuits, I should try, but I feel really sick when it comes like my stomach is turned inside out gosh

Morning!!! I'm trying to follow these and find it helpful:

Helpful Do’s And Don’ts

Do:

-Eat small meals often

-Drink fluids 1/2 hour before or after a meal, but not with meals

-Drink small amounts of fluids during the day to avoid dehydration

-Eat soda crackers 15 minutes before getting up in the morning

-Eat whatever you feel like eating, whenever you feel you can

-Ask someone else to cook for you and open the windows or turn on fans if the odor bothers you

-Get plenty of rest and nap during the day

-Avoid warm places (feeling hot adds to nausea)

-Sniff lemons or ginger, drink lemonade, or eat watermelon to relieve nausea -Eat salty potato chips ( they have been found to settle stomachs enough to eat a meal)

-Exercise

Don’ts:

-Do not lie down after eating

-Do not skip meals

-Do not let this condition go untreated

-Do not cook or eat spicy food

There are some extra things I didn't know about... watermelons sound good. I heard grapes and ice pops.

Unfortunately it is getting me really down as I have no motivation due to feeling so out of sorts.

Why can't we just lay an egg.

Xx

Yes ice pops sounds nice,

you are not the one who feels down, it makes me so helpless

haha if we can lay an egg the life will be easier :)

Hi there, morning sickness can happen any time of the day but usually when your tummy is empty, hence why it is so common in the morning. As others have said, the best thing is to eat little and often. I don't think there are any medications available, but ginger really helped me - I kept a packet of ginger biscuits on me constantly during my first trimester! But if you can't face food, perhaps some ginger tea? Hope you feel better soon. X

I eat very often but sometimes my tummy doesn't want to accept this food, I feel bad but not so bad as other ladies with morning sickness, as Sunonarainyday told about hyperemesis gravidarum.

you are right usually it comes in the morning when I wake up and try to eat something. I like ginger tea with slices of orange apple and strawberry, I know it sounds weird but I reaaly fond of this. Also I was told to eat a lot of avocado, bananas and chicken to enrich my body with vit B6.

What about peppermint or spearmint tea, is it helpful?

All the above are great suggestions but just adding that don't ignore the symptoms if they get too bad as there is a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum which has to be treated.

Our DIL ended up in hospital several times throughout each pregnancy due to becoming severely dehydrated as she couldn't even keep water down, they diagnosed the above and gave her tablets which did help a lot each time. Her mum was the same when she was pregnant with her interestingly.

It's fairly rare and I'm sure this isn't your problem but thought it worth mentioning.

Take care x 🌹

awful, I just read an information about hyperemesis gravidarum, it's horrible.

And I found this 'If HG is inadequately treated, anemia, hyponatremia, Wernicke's encephalopathy, kidney failure, central pontine myelinolysis, coagulopathy, atrophy, Mallory-Weiss tears, hypoglycemia, jaundice, malnutrition, pneumomediastinum, rhabdomyolysis, deconditioning, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, splenic avulsion, or vasospasms of cerebral arteries are possible consequences. Depression and PTSD are common secondary complications of HG and emotional support can be beneficial'

Gosh, thanks God I don't have this, now it seems like my morning sickness is not so bad

thank you dear for lovely words

I wasn't trying to worry you but wouldn't want anyone getting in the dreadful state our poor DIL was in, happily once baby had popped out each time she was back to normal. As I said it is rare, it makes normal morning sickness seem like nothing. I've had 4 children and was only physically sick once, with 2 of them I never even felt nauseous, so I was very lucky.

Ginger biscuits helped me first thing in the morning I remember x🌹

oh my God, now I feel worried, I will pay more attention to my health state.

haha, physically sick? what do you mean by that? 4 children are too many, how you deal with each of them? how did you decided to do this? did you use any reproductive treatment or it was naturally?

you all speak about ginger, how much can I eat every day? is there any limits or bad impacts of it?

in reply tobfrida

I meant I actually vomited, one morning out of all the 4 pregnancies so was lucky, many of my friends did so every day for the first few weeks.

Our kids are all grown now, 37, 35, 32 and 20, we were lucky in that after one miscarriage everything was natural. We have 7 Grandchildren from the two boys (we had 2 boys, then 2 girls) but our eldest dd is just starting her IVF journey, they've got an appointment this morning as her hubby had a TESE done last week, and it's looking like our youngest dd has PCOS so she's having problems too.

I mainly search this amazing forum to find out info to help and support my girls, reading the journeys you are all going through has literally brought me to tears on numerous occasions, both of sadness but also of joy.

You're all so amazing and the level of support you each give each other is very special, I've never come across such a wonderful bunch of people, it is truly heart warming!

The morning sickness will clear up soon I'm sure, wishing you all the very best x🌹

aww, thank you very much, you make me over sensitive right now, I'm about to cry. I also found a lot of ladies here support with any rewarding, they say nice and warm words and I believe it to be a human miracle. I couldn't believe that I will be supported by others on forum but not in a real life.

I'm so sorry your daughters are suffering from this devastating issues, I know how it feels when you want to have a baby but you can't. And I want to say that you are brave, not every mom will do it, including mine.

may I ask you a question how old are you?

your daughter has started her journey in uk right?

in reply tobfrida

I'm 57, had our first 3 at aged 20, 22 and 25, the last at aged 37 not planned, complete shock but extremely well loved as they all are.

Yes she's just starting her journey in Liverpool UK, they're actually at their appointment now as I type this so waiting on some news. I've not been able to find out much about TESE really, her hubby has other medical issues as well; they had been trying for two years with no luck so decided to ask for a referral, they get two goes at ivf where they live.

I wish you all the best x🌹

Travel sickness bands for your wrists, lemon, ginger, honey and warm water tea. Other than that the advice above is excellent. Don't be brave though, it is horrible get all the help you need from family, Dr etc. I know that with ivf pregnancies we often don't feel we have the right to complain but that doesn't mean we should suffer even more than we have getting here!! Poor you, it's yuck xx

you know I was always dreaming about this baby and I would never step back

I would do all in order to save it, by the way, is any option work for you?
