Slow responder again! Emotional morning!

Hi girls, I'm hoping for reassurance, had first stims scan this morning and my lining is thinner and follicles are smaller than they would expect at this stage. 😢Got really upset feels like a repeat of last round and worried we're going to end up with another load of immature/poor quality eggs but less this time as I'm on menapur. Doc has upped my dose from 150 to 225 and scanning again on Wednesday. Fingers crossed for a growth spurt

Thanks good, drink milk 2cubs a day. Coconut water and hot water bottle. That's what I did and collected 6 eggs and 5 fertilised. 2 transferred. Forgot to mention I did not respond at all after 5 days stimming.

Hi AllyBell88, its my first time on this site so im still trying to get to grips with how it works. However, I am in a very similar position. It is only my first cycle but I was originally on 150 of Menopur. They increased it to 225 after 5 days after they noticed my follicles and lining was a bit slow to develop, and im now on 300 - going back in for my next scan on Wednesday too.

Try and see it as a positive, they are closely monitoring you and although the original dosage would have been calculated on average height/weight, FSH levels, etc, they can not be 100% sure on how your body is going to react to the drugs.

But Ive heard a lot can change in a small amount of time. 150 units is also the lowest dosage and I was told those little follies sometimes just need a kick start by increasing the doses.

I hope it all works out for you.

Hi AllyBell88, sounds exactly like how things went for me on my second cycle and it became a massive success. You can probably find my old post in my profile. Don't despair, I'm at least one success story how things turned around! Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.

Keep us posted. You can ask them about double trigger as for me it probably was the combo of Menopur and double trigger that resulted in both quantity and quality :-)

My first scan after starting Menopur was day 8 of injections (day 9 or 10 of cycle). At that point not much was visible. Then I went back two days later and things started happening (but still not that many follicles), another two days later they said EC in three days. So it does take a while. Thinking of you!

Thanks girls! Just scared me as there were far less follicles this time round too (to be expected with menopur I no)

All below 6mm apart from 1 at 9 and 1 sat 7mm.

Thanks for the tips girls I've upped my milk and trying to stay calm. I guess in round 2 too much knowledge can be dangerous! /compare too much!

On the up side they have changed there criteria for theatre from 18 to 20 for biggest so that's got to work in our favour!

SRS8 good luck tomorrow! X

Hello, try not to worry! At my first couple of scans I was also told I wasn't responding and I was really nervous about it. But I think some doctors just have no bedside manner and sometimes fail to explain that everyone is different and not responding initially doesn't mean that it won't happen. I did respond eventually and one of the doctors told me that isn't at all uncommon. The way she described it was that some ovaries just spend days sucking up the drugs before a big growth. I wish the doctor who did my initial scan told me that rather than stressing me out! Anyway, I had my EC today and they got 19 eggs. Who knows if any will fertilise or be good embies, but the point is that obviously I did eventually respond and I hope you will too!

I was the same on day 6 scan barely anything.. it's heartbreaking!/was terribly upset again! I'm just now going with it, they were brill tbh can't moan at all she was hugging me and booked me in for a counselling slot . She explained that.. slow and steady hopefully wins the race! Scan again on sat 🤞Wow 19 that's brilliant! Fingers crossed for a 5 day transfer! x
