Follow up appointment......

Hello lovelies! We have our follow up appointment after the mmc on Thursday, which is a relief really, and I wondered if anyone knew what happens when you go from an NHS patient to a private patient at the same clinic? We are staying with our clinic as I really like them, but sadly we used up our two free NHS goes, so will we be able to talk about costs moving forward? We are very lucky that my dad has offered to pay for our next round, but I need to give him a rough idea of costs etc sooner rather than later, and I am eager to get going again xx

Hi we stayed with the same clinic & basically nothing much changed you just see consultants more than nurses. When we went for follow up they gave us a sheet with all the costs including extras and make sure you ask them a rough idea of medication as ours as been about £1100 so far but the last two lots are because we had a positive pregnancy test. First lot were about £800 ️xx

Thank you, we've got quite a bit of medication left over, like cyclogest and prontogest so I'm hoping that will save us a little money 🤞🏻 xx

Fab! Yeah I made a note of everything I still had and how many vials etc so they could take some off the prescription xx

We were NHS fresh round and private for fet. We weren't treated any differently..

I have my follow up on June the 5th. As yours is before mine I'll be interested to hear how you get on xx

I'll keep you posted lovely, my clinic are good at following up pretty quickly, plus they know how impatient I am! How comes yours isn't until June? I have to say they've treated me so well so I'm not sure they could treat me any differently when paying! Xxx

I only rang them and booked yesterday. They offered me next week but I asked for the following week. So they're pretty quick too. I just wasn't ready before. Probably never will be but I'm going to throw myself back into it before it gets even harder. Back on the horse so they say! xx

Yes they'll be keen to tell you costs and sign you up as a private patient, but it's never definite exactly how much. My clinic make you pay in advance then they pay you back for anything you don't use, e.g. We paid in advance for embryoscope but only had one embryo so it wasn't worth using and they gave us the money back at the end of the cycle.

Ah ok thank you for that, I feel terrible getting the ball rolling after we lost our little B, but equally I'm not sure I can wait too long as I think it will send me mad! Xx
