Hi all.
Just got back from signing all the forms. I'm officially signed up for ivf.
We start the short protocol around the 26th of May. 2 days before my 35th birthday.
Am excited and overwhelmed but can't believe it's all becoming real.

That's great news. I'm nearly at the end of a short protocol, it goes really quick. Good luck.
Aww good luck! X
Good luck πI'm just at my appointment now well I'm early waiting in the waiting room xx
Good look hope all goes smoothly xx
Thanks I'm looking at July as I've got to go on the pill when the nurse say so that my period works with my treatment, lots to take in luckily there writing it all down and sending in a letter lol xx
Yeah it's overwhelming for sure. I came home with a little pack telling me what drugs to take and when and had my needle training.
I was amazed that they said I could start on my next cycle. I'm differing my period as I'm away for 4 days when it's due. I do have to go on the pill but only for 4 days depending on when AF arrives, I think this is for hospital planning rather than anything else because if I come on Thurs to sun I can start injecting on day 1.
We paid for the embroglue as we wantto have the best possible chance.
My meds should arrive next Tuesday xc
Sorry feel so rude, didn't realise you'd replied till I see my email,
Very overwhelming, I get that all at the nurses appointment,
I come away with more paperwork to sign and to read through all what they mentions,
Yeah I think that's why she said either 19/28 days depending,
I'm going to ask about the glue on my next appointment I take it that's extra bit covered on NHS funding? I'm happy to pay for anything if it gives me more chance, bet you can't wait for all your medication/drugs to arrive as it means it's that little bit closer,
Sorry my memory is pants is this your first on 2nd attempt I'm sure you said 2nd as if I remember rightly we could of been same time, xx
hiya congratulations, can I ask other than the obvious but short/long protocol, what does this mean? we have our appointment on the 23rd may and hoping to be referred for IVF so trying to do some revision on it... thank you xxx
I think short protocol is used for ladies that might have an higher chance of OHHS. I have polycystic ovaries. I will not be on any down regulation meds just straight onto the stimulation drugs. I think it takes around 4 weeks from 1st injection to pregnancy test xx
I'm not sure of the reasons for using either short or long protocol but I've only ever done long, and that means about 3 weeks of injections before the stimulation starts, to put your own menstrual cycle to sleep so the clinic can control the timings of it all. Once they are happy your system is switched off they start the injections for stimulation. A long protocol means the cycle is about 7-8 weeks from 1st injection to pregnancy test. Hope this helps xx
Best of luck π

Good luck! I think I'll be starting on the short protocol on the same date : )
