Heartbeat is low...

Today I´ve had my ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy!

I'm on my 6th week. The position of embryo is correct! It´s the best news after my bfp! The doc heard the heartbeat, it was 103. He said it was low but as I did it quite early it is a normal rate. He scheduled me to repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks to make sure. But I'm worried anyway! It is very hazardous period….

Why is it so low?...what was your baby's heartbeat at this term???

Ours was good and healthy but sadly stopped sometime after, so a healthy heartbeat is still no guarantee that everything will be fine..

I can't offer you the experience/reassuring comments you're looking for (I hope someone else can) but I just want to wish you and your little one all the very best and hope that all is well at your next scan 🤞 🍀 xx

Thank you!!! I've read that the normal rate at 6th week is starting with 96. So I will wait two weeks and I hope for the best!!!!

Hi margy7. I do hope all is well. This is one reason why I like to do scans at 7/40wks to ensure a good heart rate. An anxious time for you, I know, so let's hope the next too weeks goes quickly for you, so you can see an improvement in your little one. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you! The doc also said that this rate could be because the heart had only started to beat...well, I hope my little pearl will survive. I'm so terrified...

Hi margy7. Of course you are! However, just hang on to the fact that your little "pearl" is beating. Plenty of time in two weeks to catch up big time! Diane

Hello Margy!

first of all want to ask you to man up and not to jump to wrong conclusion. I didn't tell anyone but I had the same issue when I was pregnant. To be honest I thought that it was a sign that I need to stop my attempts especially at that age. I was devastated and the only thing which returned me to life was my husband's support. I want you to get rid of negative thoughts for your future baby's sake. Praying for you and your children. I hope everything will be fine on the next scan xxx

I've read a few times that doctors/sonographers have commented about a "slow" heartbeat but I personally struggle to understand it with heartbeats over 100 😳 The baby's heart start beating towards the end of the 5th week first at the rate of the mothers heartbeat, picking up speed very quickly. The first scan is recommended to be performed at the very earliest at 6+0 but this is very early. My twin A had a heartbeat of 106 at this point and I was just really happy to see it. And my sonographer was very pleased with it. Twin B was hiding (always is!) and I only got to see her heartbeat at 8 weeks. So just be happy there's a heartbeat and hang in there! Of course there are no guarantees but it's a massive step towards the right direction and a very positive sign. So congratulations and wish you all the very best for your next 2ww.. waiting never ends! xoxo

Thank you, Nesfin! You are so kind! I felt a relief while reading what you've written. It seems you know more about the growth of babies. I also read a lot of stuff about the fetation and the norms of its growth.

I am happy! I'm happy to know that the heart is beating!!!
