Initial appointment tomorrow at IVF clinci

Hi! This is my 1st post - have been in the background for a while now but ha r taken so much from all the wonderful support on here.

A little background - I'm 37 & have been try for baby number 2 for over 4 years. We were referred to our local NHS & diagnosed with unexplained Secondary Infertility. After 6 cycles on Clomid & 3 on letrozol, we were discharged as nothing more they could do as we aren't entitled to funding.

So tomorrow is our initial appointment at our local private clinic. We are nervous & excited as this is the start of our IVF journey.

Any tips or questions to ask at initial appointment would be gratefully received 😊 xxx

Good luck! I'd really recommend that you get your husband to take notes during each appointment. Our hospital has given us good information all written down but taking notes personalised to us has helped too. When I phone our unit, there's an option to be put through directly to a nurse if you have additional questions. They are the ones who handle the day to day treatment.

Hi Pumpkin36! It is very exciting this first step! I would just ask why to everything! Just so you are all on the same page. Good luck and don't worry if you miss anything as you can always phone a nurse to ask any questions, generally 24 hours!!

Hi! Well our appointment went really well & have said we can start as soon as we want to! Lots still to read through & get our head around but all good. Consultant told us it would be ICSI as some of hubby swimmers have a different shaped head! Anyway, lots to think about & I'm sure I will be asking more questions & advice on here xxx
