Well it didn't work again. Last time we had a chemical but this time nothing no line at any point.

Have spoken to the doctor and he has suggested a hysteroscopy before we try again? I have had a lap and dye in the past is this worth having? Could I blag it on the NHS or would I have to pay privately? Anyone know how much we are looking at if private?

Oh no I am so sorry. Again a bit like Katya I don't know anything about these procedures..sorry. Good for you for being so proactive about next cycle xxxx

Sorry for your failed cycle, sending big hugs 💕💕

I don't know much about it but might be worth it if they recommended it, speak to your GP I bet you can have this through the NHS specially if you explain the circumstances xx

Firstly I am so sorry to hear about the bfn-big hugs.

Regarding the hysterscopy I agree with button-123 and if you can get the consultant to write a letter to your GP recommending you have a hysterscopy-that way the GP has to comply 😈

I had a hysterscopy in 2015- so if you have any question be happy to answer them.

Good luck with it all.

X

After our last IVF miscarriage, the consultant said it might be worth looking at a hysteroscopy. We asked to be referred by the consultant who did some miscarriage testing and he did a referral for us.

I asked to have a general anaesthetic as I've had painful procedures in the past and they were more than happy to do that.

My consultant always takes biopsies and sends them off, but everything was normal with everything.

I'd had a lap a couple of years before that and they didn't say anything about not having it for that reason.

I'd do anything needed to see if it helped us get our miracle x

So sorry it was not successful 😢

I have never had a hysteroscopy before, so I am afraid I can't comment on that but I am sure the other wonderful ladies on here can help.

Wishing you all the best for the future xx

So sorry Blondyboo. Take care xxx

I had a hysteroscopy at the same time as Lap and dye, so under general, on the NHS. It was my NHS infertility consultant who performed it, but my ivf consultant wrote to her and asked her to also perform a cervical dilation, which she did. So if you're still under the NHS infertility consultant maybe go down that route?

Mind you, all she told me from it was that my womb seemed fine! And I had so much else done in the one op that I don't know which thing led to pregnancy in the end but something did. (Unfortunately ended in MC but first ever BFP nonetheless)

I had a lap and dye on the NHS a couple of years ago but from what I can understand that checks outside of womb and tubes. This hysterocopy checks inside the womb?

Hello. I had a hysteroscopy last month after failed ivf (my eggs) attempts. I did have an adhesion inside which they got rid of, which could have been preventing implantation. I also have a history of fibroids, and they said that if these had been pressing into the cavity of the womb, they could have shaved them off/removed them. But before having the hysteroscopy, I had a Hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography (Hy-Co-Sys) which showed up I might have problems with the womb lining, and so they recommended the hysteroscopy. They also thought there was some calcification of my womb lining due to my previous super-bad endometriosis. The HyCoSys is like an ultrasound, but they put a catheter in the cervix to fill the womb with some fluid so they can see things better. I was awake. As I don't qualify for NHS funding, the hysteroscopy had to be privately funded and cost £2300. No point doing the lap/dye bit if you're already in the ivf camp.. lap and dye only useful if you're investigating pre-ivf why you might be infertile etc.

I am now in week 2 of my first DE cycle. I was also pleased to do the hysteroscopy last month, as it will also act like a endometrial scratch to hopefully boost our implantation chances.

Thinking of you on your journey. xxx
