What foods are good and bad before during and after a frozen embryo transfer? Is it right to have a small glass of pineapple juice a day? Xx Kirsty xx

Before mine I had Accupunture which I swear made the biggest difference for me. Started a few weeks beforehand

I ate lots of greens, kale, broccoli and green beans before.

After I had two pineapple rigs with the core per day and 4 Brazil nuts. Don't have too much as that can be bad and it's the pineapple core you want.

Good luck x

Hi there,

I ate fresh pineapple and an avocado every day - usually in a shake with some spinach. I also had a few brazil nuts every day (but not too many, as Loobee said, too many can be bad for you). Apart from that I made sure I ate a healthy, balanced diet with organic meat and dairy.

Good luck! Xx

It really doesn't matter, as long as you eat healthy foods, as you would anyway, and avoid alcohol. There are many myths about pineapple and etc but I've been told by a few consultants now that this makes no difference at all.

I've also tried so many things myself and nothing has worked so I'm now of the mindset to be fit and healthy and stop adding extra stress and ritual to an already stressful and emotional time.

Don't beat yourself up about foods, just eat sensibly and try to keep yourself happy and distracted on your 2ww.

Good luck on your journey xx

hi all.

I ate everything but not too much and my doctor aslo said that I should avoid alcohol and smoking and drugs. Almost the same way I live, because I used to smoke couples of years. So my doc told me to take more care.

I hope you'll be great and don't worry about such things.!!! XXX

Hi ytsrik1978. A good diet to have at this time consists of variety, however, I have listed some of the “good” things to have: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid! Hope this helps and all the best with the FET. Diane
