Hi 👋

Does anyone know how long you usually have to wait between egg retrieval and a Frozen Embryo Transfer? We got 5 good quality embryos which have now been frozen 🙂

it will largely depend on whether you’re having a medicated or natural FET. Do you know which one you’re planning on having?

You can have transfer with your next bleed .Starting preparing your lining with day one if your period however, Drs do usually recommend to skip one period and start with second one just to give your body some rest and settle down

I did mine with one bleed in the middle, and then the transfer on the 2nd one.

But I remember that I could wait more if I wanted.

Congrats on the good quality embryos. I had my egg retrieval on 1 August last year and was able to start a FET cycle end of August. I have pcos so my cycles are irregular and I had meds to induce a bleed. Good luck xx

Hi BabyBear. If your periods are regular and you’re doing a natural transfer, then next month, otherwise you may have to start a medicated cycle later. Check with your clinic. Good luck. Diane

Thank you everyone. I have my appt to discuss the plan on Monday, just being inpatient lol!! Is the transfer the same sort of procedure as the collection? Xx

Hi, transfer is much easier. Done in about 10 mins. No need to be sedated or anything. They put the embryo in a catheter and then use that to place the embryo in your uterus. A bit uncomfortable but it's over quickly. Good luck xx
