UCLH (endometriosis)

Hi all, anyone here has been treated at the University College London hospital Endometriosis? My fertility doctor has recommended this hospital(she told me they are really good). What is the waiting time after you have been referred from your GP?

Hi, both my husband and I are having treatment at UCLH. To give an idea of waiting timing we were referred in November 2015 after researching and going to the open day visits. In January 2016 we received an acknowledgment letter and had our first appointment in March. During the initial consultation we were told waiting time is good 6 months and saying that we started treatment in November. So overall would say roughly waiting time is a good year. During the year you will get called for various tests , scans etc.... once you know the referral letter has been submitted give it 4 to 6 weeks and then chase UCLH to get an indication of time and ensure you are on their books. Good luck and all the best too!

Hi there, I was "diagnosed" with unexplained infertility in December 2015 by my local hospital and told I'd wait 7 months for treatment, but I was not actually referred to UCLH until February 2016!

I was first seen by UCLH in June 2016 & will start my treatment this month - I was due to start last month but wanted to enjoy Christmas, so deferred it!

Wishing you all the very best x

(our treatment is IVF rather than endometriosis)

Hi noodles, I want to go there to treat my endometriosis as I got severe endometriosis. My first cycle of ivf has failed due they couldn't collect eggs on both of my ovaries, as my left ovary is stuck behind my uterus and my intestine and bladder is in the way. I want them to unstuck my left ovary and take some of the endometriosis out as much as they can before I start my second and last cycle of ivf. I went to see my GP today and I asked her to do the referral and the clerk was trying to do choose and book for me. But she couldn't get ULCH, so they told me they will need to write to them. I was so disappointed. So I will need to chase my GP on Thursday or Friday to see if they have sent the referral through the post.

Hi amiraalexander. If you see your GP he/she may be able to book you in while you are there in the surgery. If not, it can take up to 18 weeks. I can't comment on the hospital, but I would be assured that your GP feels confident in referring you. Good luck with whatever is decided. Diane
