Spotting - endometriosis TTC

Hey all

I have stage 4 endometriosis. I have one blocked Fallopian tube because of it, retrovaginal endo and severe endo on my bowel. We’ve been TTC for 9 months now and nothing (my husband has severe morphology as well) but I get spotting on and off which I imagine is the endo. I’ve had my hormones checked twice, all normal. This month, the spotting has been the last two mornings only, when I get up it’s bright red blood suddenly coming out. Not loads just enough to know and have to wipe and then not at all the rest of the day. I’m currently 8 days past ovulation and not due to start period until next Tuesday. Im regular 28 days every month. What I want to know is, has anyone got pregnant whilst spotting every month? Every month I get it I’m like great I’m not pregnant now again. And also, does anyone know why this is happening or have any comments about it?

Thanks all!

Not sure it's the same scenario for me as we were unexplained infertility, but when I told our clinic I had spotting 2nd half of my cycle, they put me on progesterone pessaries.....

I am 42 though - you may be younger than me.....

Hey Eb20

Did that work for you? I’m 32. I thought it could be progesterone but apparently my hormones are normal - might be worth giving it a go. xx

I don't even think they checked my hormones tbh - there was a poor blood supply to my lining during my cycle which they thought might be linked.

I am currently pregnant! So it must have done something! But I was also on Letrozole to aid ovulation...

Hey,

Thank you for replying. How did they find out that there was poor blood supply to your lining?

Many thanks

Hey

I’ve had 3 ops over the past 7 years. They said the next one I need has a high risk of a colostomy bag cause I have severe bowel endo so they’ve said not to have that op until I’m desperate to do so as it’s major surgery. Xx

Hey 👋

Finally nice to hear from someone with a similar story as me. There are many endo warriors on here but we all have different symptoms and issues.

I’m 33, I have stage 4 endo with severe endo on my bowel. Like you I have only one tube due to an ectopic from endo and having to have my tube removed as well as the baby.

10 years I was trying for a baby. Like you I always get spotting with my endo. I usually get some pain around ovulation and then I usually start to spot about 3/4 days before my period and like you I always knew WELL NOT PREGNANT THIS MONTH. So soul destroying! This happened every month for over 10 years. After my ectopic I ended up having an lap to try and tidy my insides up ready for my journey of ivf. I knew ivf was my only option as I had been trying for far too long with no success.

So we started our ivf journey ended up with 5 embryos and our first transfer stuck and we now how our little miracle who is nearly 18 months old. I am so glad I went for ivf. My nightmare has now begun again as I am trying naturally again with one tube and endo so as you can imagine the heartache when my period comes hurts every time. I am going to try ivf again soon as we did try again after my son and it was unsuccessful.

The spotting you mentioned is to do with endo. Well that’s my guess anyways as I get the same as you and like you I have had all my checks and all is good including the lining of my womb. I think it’s just a side effect from the endo but as far as I’m aware this doesn’t mean the functioning of everything is not working correctly. I’m like you exactly 28 days until my full flow every month with spotting 2/3 days before. The fact you are so regular says to me your ovulating and things are moving. You issue could be the same as me where its not the being pregnant that’s the problem it’s the Journey. I’ve been told with me it’s the transportation not the being pregnant. I always worry from the pain I get in my bum when due on and on a period I think what a mess in there but my baby carried safely for 9 months.

Try not to be hard on yourself as endo is bad enough as it is, we know it’s possible to get pregnant with endo so please try and stay positive, yes you might need a little help but it’s very possible.xxx ❤️

Hey Faith

Thank you so much for your message! I’m sorry you went through all of that for 10 years. What a mental stress it all is. I’m fearful of ivf but someone said to me actually when you get to it you might be happy something is actually being done about all this- and I hope it’s true! Glad to hear you’ve got your miracle and I hope you get another one soon. I have two friends with stage 4 endo and both got pregnant naturally. One has two children (had three miscarriages and husband has sperm issues) but got pregnant relatively quick and another got pregnant after a year of trying so I know it is possible but I feel in my gut I know we’ll end up with ivf. Same as you, I’ve done all the tests (bbt/ ovulation sticks, check cm) and it seems I’m ovulating each month. My sister in law also only has one tube (not from endo) and she has two kids and got pregnant super quick each time. Please feel free to private message me if you want to as I would love to keep updated and keep in contact with someone who’s going through/ has been through the same sort of thing as me. How long have you been trying this time? Xx
