We are absolutely devastated to find out today that we have had total fertilisation failure with our 5 eggs and ICSI.
How is this possible? I am finding it difficult to come to terms with.
Our first round we got 7 eggs and 100% fertilisation.
They upped my stims this round from 225 ovaleap to 300 menopur. My AMH is good for my age at 18.6, 39yrs, and its male factor infertility. I was on the long protocol and was always dubious about the ramp up in stims...
Our follow up appt isnt until weeks away and I just feel lost and in the dark.
Has anyone experienced this rare outcome?

hi MollyHar - so so sorry to hear. I just replied to Dragonfly1111 as this happened to me during my second round, we had total fertilisation failure with icsi. They were able to inject 4 eggs but they just didn’t fertilise, husbands DNA fragmentation test was normal.
At the time, my consultant said it was due to poor egg quality, however I got a second opinion at another clinic who said I was stimmed too high (375 Ovaleap) - so I did a third round with the new clinic changing protocol and lowering my stim dosage and had a much better response.
every cycle is different and although TFF is so hard to deal with at the time, you can go on to having a successful round after. Sending lots of love x

If you scroll the feed, I also tagged dragonfly in my post from 11 months ago, there’s lots of responses - you may find useful x
So sorry this happened. when we tried ICSI - my eggs died on injection. We've since reverted back to IVF and had much better results. I know there is a sperm issue but have you ever thought of trying half IVF and half ICSI? It's all trial and error, so hard to know what is the best way forward
so sorry to hear this, we found out yesterday that none of ours fertilised normally with icsi- our second round. I didn’t respond very well to stims this time and so only 3 injectable eggs, but it still floored me to hear that it’s all over. it really really sucks and I’m so sorry you’re going through it too! X
