We've just been scheduled for our second fresh cycle and i don't qualify for the scratch procedure, I'm tempted to have it done privately, would like to hear some feedback pn those that have had it, be it positive or negative!
Thanks in advance! 🙂

I think it's worth it my embryos implanted I will be having it done again for next cycle x (not very nice but over in minutes)
I think it's worth it.
Our first cycle failed (embryos didn't implant) so I opted for the scratch before our second cycle.
My second cycle was a disaster due to my body not responding to the meds. Clinic cancelled yet unbelievably I fell pregnant with my one and only egg! Our little miracle is due 2 weeks tomorrow. x
Hi jam1982. This is often offered to women who have had two unsuccessful IVF cycles, but can be offered during any cycle, depending upon your consultant’s recommendations. New research and evidence suggests that scratching the uterine lining causes a ‘repair reaction’ which may increase embryo implantation rates. There have also been studies that show it also promotes uterine stem cells to develop. More research is underway to understand exactly how this works. Just thought I would fill you in and wish you all the best with whatever you do decide. Diane
I've been told that it would only be offered after 3 failed implantations in nhs (Wales), if we want it we'll have to pay for it this time, I find it strange they only offer it after 3 when I'm only entitled to 2 full cycles! Thank you for your reply! X
Hi jam1982 I paid to have the scratch done for my first cycle. It wasn't needed as my embryos didn't develop unfortunately. However I am just about to start my second cycle and with hope in my heart I have arranged a second scratch. It's quite painful (or I thought it was) and lasts a couple of minutes but that's it really! I had period like cramps for around an hour afterwards. The research that it's beneficial is pretty good out there so I feel it's worth and the pain and £150! Good luck with what you decide!!xx
