Hi all!

So am starting short protocol end of the month on my next cycle yea!

However I am on 30bmi for NHS criteria and doctor wants me to lose weight. I have been trying and my height spreads it a bit more but I need help with getting if off!

As my success rate is Lowet due to my AMH I need to give me as much success as possible. Also I'm a teacher which is stressful!

Any weight losing tips please x

Hey I've no tips really but a friend of mine does slimming world and she said it's amazing and doesn't feel like a diet. She's lost about 7 stone in a year and a half and that's without any major exercise. She just does slimming world and walks a few times a week. Xxx

I'm doing slimming world, also to give my body the best possible chance. I've lost 11.5lb in 7 weeks. So it definitely works! Xx

Hi there.

I also have struggled with my weight so I can sympathise.

I have polycystric ovaries and because of my polycystric ovaries I have high insulin levels- boderline type 2 diabetes. With high insulin levels makes losing weight hard. My consultant who has diabetes himself recommended I followed the low GI diet- carbs are the enemy and need to limit them- vege and fruit and dairy is fine- protein is also unlimited. I have found following this diet really easy and I'm never hungry!

My consultant also recommended light exercise such as walking and swimming- high impact sports best avoided as they might encourage me to snack!! ( not healthy)

Since being on this diet I have lost so much weight in a shirt space of time-typical pco weight is all round waist- I feel much better as I've trimmed down. Plus it'll help my clomid work better.

Agree about teaching being stressful- I'm training to be a teaching assistant! But can be so rewarding too at times 😘

Good luck with everything. How exciting to be starting IVF next month woohoo- such a long waiting process- one I'm still no good at! Hope it brings you a beautiful positive x

Hi Hun thank you so much for the advice. Where can I find this GI diet as sounds like what I really need? Yes I need to not snack. I need to watch what I eat for definite xxx

Hi, my BMI was 30 when we had our first consultation and I've managed to get it down to 27 and lost nearly 2 stone by doing the 30 day shred DVD and using my fitness pal to keep a diary of what I eat and make sure I don't go over my calories.

I hope this helps and just wanted to wish you luck xx

allieb21. I am certain that you are doing everything that you can to lose weight, but whatever you are doing, whether at a slimming club or on your own, make sure that you are keeping a record of your losses, however small, so that you can prove you are trying. A practice nurse at your GP practice would weigh you and keep a record too, if you don’t want to join a slimming club. Swimming, if possible, is good too. If you can afford to attend one of these fitness centres, then speak to one of the advisers. He/she will be able to help you with your diet requirements and also the correct exercising that you require. Good luck, it's not easy, and you can buy the GI diet book from Amazon. Diane

i only just qualified myself being that i was 2lbs over but i had a really nice nurse who put me through and gave me my meds started last week. I did start going gym and pilates and that helped. If they can see your trying you should be ok. No fizzy only water don't eat late.

Hi Allie - Just wanted to wish you good luck with trying to lose the weigh! My sister recently lost a lot of weight on slimming world and by walking every other day. Whatever you can do will be worth it in the long run, let the thought of baby motivate you!! Good luck! x x x
