Hello,

Just wanted to get some advice and see what others had experienced...I had 17 eggs collected with 15 being mature. They used icsi due to my issues with my other halfs sperm (very low count and morphology) and they have just rang to say 6 have fertilized...just feel a bit disappointed πŸ˜“.

same case like mine..they had to do icsi with mine case too bcz of my husband's low count sperm and i had 15 eggs, just 12 mature, 5 fertilized n finally only three made its way..so they transfered 1 to me n put 2 embryos in freeze...i was mentally prepared to accept it bcz i knw all the eggs would not make its way....i was happy to get 3 embryos finally...

Hi there. Look at it this way, sometimes none fertilise so 6 is actually a decent result. We all wish for more but fertilisation is the part that we definitely can't control. Reese28 is right, it only takes one beautiful embryo to do the trick. Chin up darling. Sending baby dust your way xx

I had 17 eggs collected, 16 mature, 8 fertilised and 5 made it for transfer/to be frozen. Your numbers look pretty normal xxx

Hi katiePW . This one was my sec cycle which they collect 6 nice looking eggs . Day 2 after collection they say that when to nice 4 being fertilize . Thursday gone we got nice 3 embies and the nr 4 that day had 4 cells but they don't give up on him yet . In this cycle I being ask from embryologist if I want to go through IVF or ICSI . My hubby sperm is good no need for ICSI which she say that but ICSI May give you better chances . We r not a expert and we told her to go what she think is right for us . Before we start this cycle my doctor told us that with IVF sometimes they can get more fertilize eggs ..but if your hubby have very low sperm count then that is the best thing for u two choosing the best sperm to fertilize egg. 17 eggs is good number Hun but is the Quality u need . 2morow morning is my ET ...I hope my little embies will do well and we will have some to freeze . Like reese28 wrote it's only need this 1 . πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒxx

Hi KatiePW we had a round of ICSI and had 19 eggs collected 9 fertilised but only one embryo developed to a excellent condition for transferring and none suitable for freezing. We really had our doubts it would work but I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Saturday. 😊. Dont stress about numbers it just takes that one wee lucky embryo. Good luck x x

Thank you for the reassurance and more importantly congratulations on your bundle of joy! Such lovely news! x

Yeah agree, that's great. I had 14 collected and 3 fertilised but as they girls say, you only need one good one.

Did they tell you the quality. The three of mine were 4Aa which I was delighted with

Good luck πŸ’•πŸ˜

Hello, they told me the grades yesterday as 3 day old...a mixed bunch where there words! I have 2 grade 1's, 1 grade 2, 1 grade 2/3 and 2 grade 3's. They are taking them to day 5 but said they prob won't all make it. It's so hard knowing what is normal/ good!

How you getting on? x

That's it, wait and see how they develop on day 5. Good luck xx

Hi, that's a good number of eggs, remember it's quality over quantity. We also have icsi for the same reason as you, we had 15 eggs collected, 7 fertilised and 5 embryos made it to 5 day bioblast. I've had 1 put back which resulted in a bfp 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant, 4 in the freezer. So really don't worry. With my 1st round of icsi I got 13 eggs and ended up with 1 embryo, got bfp but miscarried. Every cycles different hun- good luck with everything x

Wow! Congratulations!! They are taking mine to 5 day but said they might not make it. I have two grade 1's so hoping one of those will! They are recommending 2 to be put back in but my other half isn't as keen! x

Fingers crossed both your little embryos make it, how do you feel about having two transferred? X

KatiePWβ€’ in reply tosum1sweeta

I'm always liked the idea of twins but my other half isn't keen. We decided we would listen to their advice, which is two...my other half is saying he's ok with that...I'm a little scared incase we end up with twins! We have to decide by tomorrow morning! I'm 38 nearly 39 so time isn't on my side! What made you have one out back in? Great news you have 4 frozen!

sum1sweetaβ€’ in reply toKatiePW

Gosh twins would be lovely. It makes sense to have 2 put back in it will give you a greater chance giving you said you haven't got the time to wait about. I'm had one because I've just turned 30, i have a history of miscarriages and I have crohns disease. I think they are being cautious but i'm really being looked after with pregnancy which is reassuring. Let us know what you decide xx
