We had this with our sperm samples, all it usually means is that instead of conventional ivf they would perform icsi whereby they pick out the best sperm & inject it into the egg to fertilise rather than let the sperm make its own way to the egg. It’s really common and a lot of ivf patients need icsi on top. Hope that helps x

Oh okay thank you for your reply it's been so stressful worrying about all this so it hasn't caused you problems with icsi working and fertilising properly at all did you change your life at all for this as our diets weren't great etc and only been healthy eating now for couple months don't drink though just don't no wot to do for the best xxx

No we didn’t really change anything we both worked out anyway as my other half is scaffolder & gym instructor so really active and I went to the gym about 4 times a week already. Our diet isn’t all healthy though as we don’t eat veg, fruit etc but both our BMIs were fine for our cycle. I currently only have 12 days till my due date now!! Think positive, I hope it all works out well for you x

Haha makes sense sorry for all questions did you no why it may not of worked 1st time you had icsi or just one of those things or were things better 2nd time round through the fertilisation xxx

I think it was just one of those things, the consultant even said the 1st cycle is pretty much a trial run to see how you respond to medication and then if it doesn’t work they can tweak it for the next time & add stuff if need be. I got more eggs the second time round and more fertilised though. 1st cycle 15 eggs and 2nd was 25eggs! Xx

My husband had this and was recommended to take Proxceed it said to help with the shape and make them swim in the right direction. It kicks in after about 3 months and comes in the form of powder in sachets you take with water twice a day! 6 months later and his shape and strength of his swimmers has doubled!

My husband also had same problem on his sperm shape, so Doctor suggests us to do ICSI. I had 9 eggs picked, 7 fertilized, 5 embryos last for more than 5 days in the lab. 2 embryos have already transferred last week, remaining 3 embryos might freeze that I'm waiting for hospital letter.

ICSI is using single sperm picked by embryologist, so supposedly they should be very good quality. I think this will be best solution when sperm has issues. Hope this helps!

My daughter and her husband had to have icsi. Her first round worked and the result is a gorgeous 22 month old boy. She then was having FETin July but the egg didn’t survive the thaw. Her next round in September was cancelled half way through treatment because she wasn’t responding to treatment then she started another round at the end of November. The results of that are she found out she was pregnant yesterday. Miracles do happen so keep the faith . Good luck xxxx
