2ww slow motion

Morning ladies, so I'm 4dp5dt and going slowly mad! I've taken 2 weeks off work to make sure I don't get stressed and I'm watching a lot of telly and eating healthily. I want to do the right thing for my body but also need something to take my mind off obsessing about whether it's working or not. Found out yesterday that we don't have any embies suitable for freezing which I got quite upset about. Feel that there's even more pressure now on the result of the ET. Trying to stay positive but also not get my hopes up. It's a year since our MC which floored me and I don't know how I'll cope if it's a negative result. Any top tips for coping with the 2ww? Xx

I don't have tips, but have lots of empathy. I'm on day 9 of second cycle after miscarrying after my first.

Am ridiculously restless and have sprained my back so can't be really active. Loads of box sets and trying to avoid google! It's honestly the worst part of the whole thing and the days are so slow.

One day at a time, be nice to yourself and take care xxx

Thanks Daisy14 , not long til test day for you then 👍🏼 How did you manage to do your back in? I thought I'd go to the shops today for a little pootle round and change of scenery but then I get paranoid that it could affect implantation and I need to take it easy at home. It's so hard to feel normal and take my mind off it when I'm not behaving normally! Hope your back is feeling better soon and best of luck for test day 🍀🍀🍀 xxx

Not sure I feel it is close, feels like an age away! But thank you!

The process turns us crazy I swear. Opposite to you I'm terrified my being laid up a lot will mean I don't get enough blood flow to the embryo. Desperate to go out!

Only picked up a cup from a table awkwardly, really annoying but it is getting easier.

Hope you find some nice ways to pass the time, good luck to you too! 🍀 xx

Hi! I know how you feel :-( I stayed at home for a few days after but started to get cabin fever and wanted to keep myself sane.I'm now leaving the house to go out for lunch or to the shops as I couldn't cope any longer at home. Only so much bad tv you can watch. Maybe you just need a change of scenery. From what I've read some movement is good for us after ET to increase the blood supply. Only thing getting to me atm is using the pessaries vaginally. Not looking to trying the other way later on this evening. X

Thanks Fran35 it's hard to know what to do for the best, I've never considered myself a worrier until I started IVF! I'm going to start getting out a bit more and we're going away this weekend so that'll be a nice distraction. Are you having problems using the pessaries vaginally? I've been using them rectally since ET and been fine although starting to get a bit sore. I think it's a lot less messy than using them vaginally. Ooh the outside world has no idea about the exciting things we talk about! 😉 Xx

Maybe a weekend away is just what you need. Hey a break from the house. Yes such bizzare conversations since beginning the Ivf journey. I've been using pessaries vaginally since EC last Monday. Last couple of days so itchy so I'm going to have to use the other way. Not looking frd to it but I hear lots others use that way. Will be another experience. I know what you mean about the worrying. I'm the same. Think it's the fact that I feel a totally loss of control in the process. My body doesn't feel my own anymore. Hoping next week will fly in for us x

Itching doesn't sound nice. I find a bit of Vaseline and squatting down make it easiest to do it the other way if that helps. Good luck 👍🏼🍀 xx

Aww 2ww is a killer defo worst part nothing anyone says or does can help. Good luck 🍀🍀

Hi CheshireKit, bless you, the 2ww is a killer and nothing can seem to make it go quicker, it drove me mad! Next time i'm going to have 2 days off and then go back to work. Maybe you could go back in next week? Try and stay away from google, easier said then done as I was obsessed with it. Implantation should have happened by now, so fingers crossed. I'd say read, keeps your mind off it much more than watching tv all day. Fingers crossed xx

Thanks baby2016 im avoiding Google, I'm worried enough whether I'm doing the right things or not! I think I'm going to stay off work again next week and make the most of having a break from the place as my boss stresses me out 😉 Xxx

Hi CheshireKit! We passed DE IVF in Ukrainian clinic. Here are some tips they gave us to survive the tough period. So just wanted to share it with you. First you should avoid heavy lifting, hot baths and rigorous exercise. Don’t be shy about asking for more time away from the office. Embryo implantation takes place three of four days after transfer. Stress and anxiety don’t help. So this might be nice to have these days off from any serious work.

Also it is quite easy to forget to take medication in 2ww. And they are vital during this period. They are keeping an embryo alive and the uterine environment optimal. I almost happened to forget to take them once. Thankfully my dh reminded me about it :) Later I created a chart for my daily medication and ticked each drug dose off after I took it. As for implantation bleeding I experienced brown discharge only.

I would also advice not to test early, or expect early pregnancy symptoms. Also no sex soon after an IVF cycle. And always hope for the best and think positively – this time is your rainbow!

Wish you all the best of luck and keeping fingers crossed for you! May God help and take care of you :)

Thank you Karinyaa thats really kind of you. All the advice sounds sensible, the only drugs I'm using are the progesterone pessaries which I'm managing to remember as part of my going to bed and getting up routine. Trying to think positively, thanks so much for your lovely wishes 😄 xx

I think I had transfer same day as you..I am 5dp5dt today! Blood test at my clinic is Monday 18th 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Not long too wait. Think I may do a HPT on Saturday...

I have been at home too this week but have tried to keep myself busy. Today I am taking my god sons to the farm!

My first fresh cycle I was at home all week and didn't do anything which drove me crazy I obsessed too much about it which unfortunately failed, my first FET I went straight back to work which also failed so this time I have gone in between and am at home but doing things 😉 It drives you insane as you don't know what might affect implantation!!

Enjoy your weekend away that will be lovely to take your mind off things xxx

Thanks lianm8 you're right, I'm driving myself crazy whether I'm doing too much or too little and whether it's worked! My test day is next Wednesday so 6 more days to go. Best of luck with yours 🍀🍀 xx

Best advice I can offer... Lots of early nights, healthy food, walking and keep busy. See friends, go places, read, relax with music and even a bit of meditation helps. (Zita west has an app on her website for a meditation you can do in 2ww). And the supplements too. I watched the box set of house of cards which was good. Try to think about other things or plan for something else otherwise you'll drive yourself mad!! Xx Good luck xx

I'm making my way through Prison Break. Genius choice, loads of prison men and no pregnancies or babies. So far!

Hi, I'm sorry you were so upset there were no frozen ones, it happened to me on my first cycle and I was really upset about it as well so I understand. We're finding out if any are suitable for freezing this time round but I'm not optimistic.

It sounds like you're doing the right things, relaxing and taking time out for yourself. I'm just seeing friends, reading books, meditating and walking...and eat lots of avocado :)

Good luck sending positive thoughts your way, look after yourself xx
