I was turned down for funding because hubby has a child from a previous relationship because I was honest. I asked this question would they of checked if we didn't say anything.......I didn't really get much of a reply......more of a silence. Maybe that says it all. And no can't remember them asking about any criminal history.

My husband has a child from a previous relationship that should not effect funding as uk ruling states every woman is entitled to have a child of their own ! So I wouldn't lie about that as I got my funding although my husband has a child and I am now 25 weeks pregnant and as for criminal record I believe they are only interested on offences against children or that will put a child in danger ! Hope this helps xXx

They asked us the same ( we don't have any other children so it should be ok )

Hi billie88. If you have a look at fertilityfairness.co.uk you will be able to see what the criteria is for fertility treatment with your local CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group). Many areas do permit treatment when the female partner does not have a child, so worth pursuing. Regarding criminal records, this check is done as part of the "welfare of the child" check, and is only interested in offences against children. Good luck with it all, and I do hope that you get the funding. Should you need to appeal against a refusal, then we have a template letter you can fill out and send off. Go to infertilitynetworkuk.com and click on the "NHS funding" pages. scroll right down to the bottom of the page, to the pink writing. One of these letters is a template letter of appeal. The address you send it to, if you don't know, can be found by clicking on Find your CCG just above the letters. Diane
