Hello there, I have PCOS and have had 9 failed attempts on Clomid although I responded well to them. I have just had ovarian drilling which I havnt responded well to. Now going down the IVF route but don't know whether to try natural IVF or actual IVF. Any thoughts ladies?

Hi Laura300. Well you certainly gave Clomid a run for its money! That was a lot of goes! Sorry to hear that the ovarian drilling was unsuccessful, and it is for that reason I would think your best option would be to try conventional IVF. The reason being is it is more controlled. Of course it will depend upon your hormone results and your age as to whether it would be the best option, or maybe your consultant will be happy to try a natural cycle, I don’t know. I do have a list of questions you might like to look through before you go back to see your consultant. There just may be one or two you hadn’t thought of asking. It is too long to add here, but if you email me in confidence to dianearnold@infertilitynetworkuk.com I will send it to you. Good luck! Diane
Well, hun, I'm not sure I can advise the actual thing here. Just thought 9 att with Clomid is pretty enough for starting looking onto other options. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I guess you'd better look closer on actual IVF. I'm confused you've tortured your body for so long. It might have got fed with the meds with no result. Oh, poor thing, I'm so sorry you found yourself here..
All in all, this is just a rough idea, we don't have details of the situation. But being in your shoes I'd better go for plan B and not waste time. If your eggs are ok and your DH's swimmers are all right then actual IVF must give fast results. I wish you all the best with your decision and further treatment itself. Keep positive and occupied not to be overwhelmed too much. Hugs X
