My daughter was under the hewitt clinic, she is now 33 weeks pregnant from her 1st IVF ICSI , the staff have been amazing, good luck with your journey x
I've had a failed ICSI and now we're a few days off doing a pregnancy test with our second round ICSI...both at the women's and staff are amazing!! Our first appointment was June 2014 and took a while to do all tests to find out what's wrong and partner had to have an operation. Our IVF consultation was 2nd October 2015 and I started injections on 3rd September 2015. Once you've had the ok for IVF it's all systems go and it's a brilliant clinic really friendly and informative. Doesn't seem to be much of a waiting list. Good luck x
I'm waiting to be seen there too! Had to have a fair few tests done first at my local hospital which seemed to take ages between appointments, but once the referral was made to Liverpool early Feb it's been pretty quick to get the go-ahead. The staff have always been friendly if I've rung up with queries over the past few months. My husband went for a test there last week and we now have our first joint appointment early April. Fingers crossed for you & I that it works first time!
Hi. Once our local hospital decided we fit the criteria for a referral for IVF on the NHS (which I think can vary in different areas) they sent a letter to Liverpool with the reasons why and then we had a letter from them to say they/we would then be waiting to hear from the local CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) who decide on NHS funding and if/how many rounds of IVF we would be entitled to on the NHS. This took about 3 weeks from letter going off from our local hospital to confirmation from the CCG - pretty quick I thought, although any wait seems to take forever! It's been a bit slower since then (I feel!), but in the grand scheme of things, probably not. I work for the NHS myself so have a little more understanding of some things, but not of the fertility process, although have done some research myself. A friend also went through the Hewitt Centre last year so has been able to give me a bit of an insight, which has been helpful. With regards to the actual treatment process, have a look on the Hewitt Centre website - thehewittfertilitycentre.or... - and look under the "Your Journey" part if you haven't already, as this seems quite helpful. The Centre will also send you out an information dvd too before your first appointment. Hope this helps!
Hi, the Hewitt centre is one of the best in the country so your in the right place. The staff are lovely and the process is pretty quick once you've had all your bloods done etc. I had my first round of isci in 2014 (harvested 13 eggs) and I'm starting my second round in a couple months. Good luck hun x
