Hi there, all is going well so far with my second scan on Monday since starting stims. Just wondered if anyone had any tips on diet or relevant supplements anything I should cut out? Your advice and experiences are much appreciated.

Hey Hun

On my first cycle I cut out caffeine chocolate ate really healthy etc... I didn't even get to egg Collection. On my 2nd cycle I didnt torture myself with diet I just made sure I ate lots of protein and water and then ate whatever I wanted had 2 cups of coffee a day also. I was taking pregnacare vitamins . I had 22 eggs collected, I donated half of them so out of my 11 eggs 7 fertilised 3 made it to blastocyst stage. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant and have 2 frozen embryos. So try not to stress too much I'm a believer in whatever will be regardless of diet . Hope everything goes well for you xxx

Many thanks leanneb. Congratulations on your success throughout your treatment. Think it's lovely you donated. I think you could be right. I like to think I'm quite a healthy, balanced eater anyway so doesn't come hard to eat a varied diet. Thanks for all the tips and best of luck throughout your pregnancy. Hopefully I'm in your shoes in a months time 😊

Hi BecciD. Hope all goes/went well with your scan today. A good diet to have at this time consists of variety, however, I have listed some of the “good” things to have: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid! Hope this helps and all goes well with the cycle. Diane

Unfortunately not, been set back a couple of days due to follicles only measuring 16 instead of 18. 😭 bit emotional today but other than that they are happy with the number of follicles present so clutching at that at the moment thanks for thinking of me xx

Hi BecciD. I can understand your disappointment, but really, those follicles are not far behind, so waiting a bit longer may be all that is needed for some of them to mature. I see this happening quite a lot, so try and keep positive. Thinking of you. Diane

You speak so many words of wisdom Diane. I know it is for the good of those little eggs developing to their full potential. I just got disappointed with myself that I hadn't done enough. Thanks again for the kind words x

Hi, I had to do a further few days as mine weren't quite ready, but at least if they catch up its giving you the best chance. Stay positive and good luck xxx

Thanks button, I'm just thankful I'm still on the road to potential success. Just don't think i had prepared myself for that set back as I've been quite lucky through most of the treatment going to schedule. I'm going to try not to dwell on the situation anymore. Thanks for the advice. Xx

Hello

I cut out caffeine and alcohol. I ate lots of protein, pineapple and Brazil nuts. We got a bfp. Whether this made any difference I have no idea but it made me feel like I was taking a bit of control!

P.s. I should also mention I ate s ton of chocolate too! A little bit of what you fancy does no harm either!

Good luck x

Thanks for the reassuring message, I've been quite focused on the protein which I normally eat anyway but will take advice on the pineapple and Brazil nuts to 😊x
