Yesterday we went to our viability scan and (after one day of dreading this scan...) everything was looking fine and we could even see a heartbeat.
Today at work, I went to the toilet for a wee and when wiping I saw a bit of pink discharge. I got scared. I have to confess that the whole day I have been probing with toilet tissue (even introducing It a bit, I know, I am going nuts) to check how It was. It didn't get worse, actually It got better (just some leftovers turning more brownish and mixed the pessaries bits remaining. Sorry, very graphic). I asked the doctors and they said not to worry, It is normal, only worry if It becomes bleeding. But I can't help worrying... I don't have pain, just a bit of a sensation, not even cramping. But I am thinking that the good symptoms are maybe decreasing and the unwanted ones increasing??!!
Any similar experience?
Thanks!!!

Sorry but I don’t have a happy ending experience I had brown spotting at 6w just the one wipe nothing else until nearly 9w then I had pink when wiped just a little I had a scan booked in for between 8/9w as I’d had 2 prev mc. Wasn’t a good outcome long and short we had to come back in 2w in them two weeks to see growth I had more bleeding on and off but still hadn’t mc had the scan after 2w confirmed non viable again and had MVA at 12w.
A lot of women have spotting which turns out fine and you’ve seen a heartbeat so that’s a good sign aswel.

Thanks for replying. I don't know, one day you are ecstatic and the day after so down again... They all said It was normal but I can't help freaking out because I know It could be the beginning of the end...

Honestly it’s the worse feeling seeing blood and having to wait to see what’s coming hopefully it’ll all be ok I have my fingers and toes crossed for u xx
I spotted between 5 and 6 weeks with my first. Just a few times one day. I went on to have the easiest pregnancy. I also experienced a bit of pain, round ligament pains, around the same time.
If it gets heavier or if you feel cramping call again. Hope everything works out for you.
Thanks a lot. I really hope It goes fine, I don't want It to finish (please, please, please). This process is the whole thing a nightmare: looking for symptoms, worrying if there are some, worrying if there are none...
Sounds like it’s the pessaries causing the spotting as they irritate your cervix. I spotted from the time of my bfp right up till I got to stop the pessaries at 10 weeks pregnant x
It could be... Actually today in the morning one of the pessaries felt and when I realised I was inserting the applicator empty and It hurt a tiny bit. I hope it is a simple as that. Is just that we know It could also be real bad...
We had our viability scan at 6+2, the next evening and a couple of days following I had brown spotting when wiping.
We were on holiday from 6+4, so the clinic advised, nothing too strenuous and that I could go up to three pessaries and to change to inserting them via the back passage.
My symptoms felt like they had changed and having had previous miscarriages, managed to get a scan in EPU at 9+6...all was still ok.
Might be worth seeing if your gp will do some blood tests or refer you to epu..
It could be the pessaries. Was it an internal scan? If so that may have iratated things as well.
I have had good and bad outcomes with spotting so wishing you luck! It’s horrible waiting to see what happens. The fact that you have seen a heartbeat is a good sign too. X
It's jut that I am having this sensation like very mild pre-menstrual, and I am freaking out! But I have never been pregnant do I don't have anything to compare It with.
I spotted all through my bfp and first scan and I have a little boy 😊 I was surprised how much there was to be honest but it’s just things imbedding deeper and getting comfy is how I looked at it! X
Could it be a bit of irritation from the scan (assuming at this stage it was an internal one)?
Not going to tell you it’s all definitely ok as obviously everyone is different but spotting doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad has happened.
I had one episode of red spotting on the morning of my viability scan (before my appointment). Everything was fine and that was really the only time it happened. Baby is now 10 months old. Really hope it’s a similar situation for you xx
I bled for the first 11 weeks of my pregnacy, sometimes pink discharge sometimes brown sometimes proper blood with clots! Apparently more common with IVF pregnacys xxx
Honestly you see blood you panic, mine was no cause for concern for the first 11weeks, but i was still at the hospital worried every week. Dont worry until they tell you something to worry about xxx
I had a bleed just around same time as you and it was before my viability scan. I poster on here for other stories and stressed myself right out. All was fine but I totally understand how you'll be feeling. Your not going mad! My bleeding stopped all was fine rest of pregancy. Easier said than done but try not to stress x x

Actually It really helps reading all your messages of advise and support!
It has stopped now... I really wish It doesn't repeat and I never know what caused it!
Try not to worry. I spotted throughout my first trimester. Maybe go see your local epu or get some bloods done to check hug for reassurance. Sending positive vibes your way xx
Thank you so much! I did see the doctor today and they took some bloods. They don't seem to worry and It has stopped now (hopefully It doesn't come back!), So much more relaxed.
Hi, sorry to hear about that. It’s such a stressful experience. If that can reassure you, i had the same issue after my viability scan too. I am now 22 weeks pregnant. At the time, The nurse said to me it could be due to the friction of the scan probe on the vagina (sorry for being graphic) which is quite sensitive during pregnancy time as the drugs bring more blood flow to the area to help to maintain the pregnancy. I hope the outcome will be the same for you. I wish you all the best of luck. Take care 🤞🤞🤞🤞💖
Yes I am trying to think It could as simple and harmless us that, just some irritation. Anyway It has stopped now, just keeping everything crossed so that It doesn't come back
