So I had my egg collection yesterday. 10 eggs retrieved , 8 were matured and today morning got a call from consultant that 6 of them have fertilised by ICSI (as my husband sperms were but lazy) now egg transfer(blastocyst) date is 27th.

Thanks Hun. . . Can't wait till 27th. I am not sure actually how many they are going to transfer but my preference will always be 2 ( as even if I missed one other is still there to carry on). How did your ET go? how many did you transfer? Xx
I had 5 collected, all 5 fertilised, 4 made it through to day 3. We transferred 2 on Monday and left 2 in the lab, but they didn't make it. So praying that my 2 best quality ones they transferred make it. One looked good, so praying that little emby pulls through. Im 38 so went for 2 to up my odds.
Mine was relieved at the 6 but the quality of his swimmers was very poor only 1 was swimming normally.
I decided to transfer 2 as they were the only ones of Good quality and did not wanna take the chance of loosing the other as the chances of it developing nicely outside of the body are slim. 2 in and 0 frozen
If you don't mind I would like to ask if they give you option of 1 or 2 embryo transfer? Or you have to convince them to transfer 2 ? As even I don't want to take a chance to loose one by transferring only one and then go through the same process again xxx
It all depends on how many survive to day 3 stage and still be high grade. I was given the choice as there was only 2 that were satisfying, they do ask you if you know the pros and considered.
Pros being you get a higher chance of ending up with a pregnancy not necessarily a twin one, also the embryos get a better chance developing inside the body than outside where they can deteriorate and become lower grade and non usable.
Cons being high risk of twin pregnancy which gives you high risk of not being able to carry the pregnancy to term.
You sound similar to me. We had 10 eggs, 9 mature and 7 fertilised via ICSI. 4 of them made it to blasto and 1 transferred (we weren't given option of 1 or 2 as the 1 was top grade). I'm now 25 weeks pregnant with 3 Frosties in storage for if we want to try for a second. Hopefully you have a similar outcome. I think if it's the sperm that's the problem then getting the eggs fertilised is the main hurdle and hopefully the rest of it is as nature intended (though we know that even in women with no issues not all fertilised eggs continue to grow so don't be disheartened if they don't all make it to blasto). Good luck!
