Hi, I have my follow up appt next week after a failed cycle in October, just wondering what people asked and questions I should be asking, did you change protocols etc? Advice would be appreciated 😊 Thanks X

Follow up
We too had failed cycle in October. Our consultant was really good and went through feedback of process step by step. It depends on your situation what you might want to ask. I have low ovarian reserve and got 5 eggs but no blastocysts at day 5, so asked a lot about what caused this and if anything needed to change. Having same protocol next time but hubby now on supplements and we are having scratch. Might be our last chance with own eggs so throwing everything at it! What's your situation?
Thanks for your reply. i have no fallopian tubes, had a 5 day blastocyst and then started my period 5 day past transfer so didn't even make it through the 2 week wait. i just know i will go in there and have a blank of what to ask! I was considering the scratch, good luck for your next round!
They should talk you through how the embryos developed day by day and discuss how good quality they are. Maybe they can change or increase medication you were on in 2 week wait? I know what you mean about going blank and so hard to know what to ask. However, it is essentially looking at embryo quality and implantation problems and they will have learnt so much from your first cycle. Good luck for any future cycles x
Diane who moderates the forum usually has a list of questions that she offers to email you to give you an idea of things to ask. I haven't got her email address but if you search back over the forum I'm sure you'll be able to find it. Good luck!
It's hard even with the questions we have had 3 failed fresh cycles and no answer.... Egg quality can be amazing but doesn't mean it's going to work.
We have given up hope on using our eggs and going donor and abroad. I am
Annoyed that we pay all this money to a consultant another he doesn't even carry out the procedure what's the point then surely I should pay each nurse each doctor we see, each different person that's gets involved 😡
We are going abroad and praying for the best. Ask whatever pops into mind nothing can be a silly question.
Good luck xx
Having had a good response to the drugs the first time, I stuck with the same for my second cycle. I asked questions about the possibility of investigations for fibroids and endometriosis because I wanted to know if that would improve our chances. I also asked if the Doctor would have done anything differently and she said that I had an otherwise "perfect cycle" (even though it resulted the first time in a BFN). I also asked about the quality of my eggs (because I didn't know whether they were particularly good or bad).
Obviously it depends on your personal circumstances, but write down a list of questions or concerns so you don't forget anything once you get in there.
Good luck X
