Panicked about illness...

Hi everyone,

I am due to finish my pill on Wednesday next week ready to start my first round of ivf. Today I have woken up with a terrible sore throat and know I'm heading for a cold. Does anyone know if this will cause my cycle to be cancelled? Iv waited so long, I really hope it won't be I just don't know how to cope with more waiting

I caught the flu proper while down regging and was still in the throughs of it when I started stims. It wasn't cancelled. I don't respond to the drugs, had very little hope it would work as I only had 1 follicle develop. The result was a success! Go figure.

Hi Spongy. This shouldn’t be a problem. Make sure you can rest when you can and drink plenty of fluids. Take some paracetamol if you need to, and stick to good old-fashioned lemon and honey for your sore throat. Get well soon! Diane

I had a terrible chest infection when I started IVF and was still on anti-biotics when I started my meds. I must have been run down as the moment the cough went I ended up with a horrible cold! I'm never sick so couldn't believe it and was really worried it might impact on treatment especially when I was trying my best to do all the 'right' things! But, it didn't impact on anything and we got our bfp in the end so try not to worry!

Thank you all for your replies. I think it's just hard when you try so hard to do the right things but can't control your body.

I'm desperately trying to rest and relax and hope it doesn't get too bad. I feel really awful now though

Thank you Diane. I am just feeling very bunged up now. Does anyone know if Sudafed basal spray would be ok to take? I am still on the pill for another 5 days so not starting ivf meds for over a week?

Any advice would be great!!!
