11dp3dt - positive - but now clinic say OTD should be 14dp3dt - a little panicked!

Hello fellow warriors,

Took our test this morning and we can’t quite believe it - we have seen our first ever positive at 11dp3dt. (TTC 3+, 3rd round of IVF, low fertilisation rates, no blasts.)

I emailed the clinic to confirm and book in the viability scan only to be informed that OTD should actually be on Saturday (at day 14 rather than day 11). All the documents from them clearly state today as test day (I thought I was being so good holding out testing to today!). I’m now in a bit of a head spin incase things change across the next few days.

I know clinics have different test days and 11dp3dt is very early - looks like I will now become a serial POAS’er.

Just wondered if anyone has thoughts on if this is likely to a true positive? And should I raise anything with the clinic about the error in dates?

Thank you and best wishes to everyone! 😘

Cautious congratulations. Technically you are 14 days past ovulation so if you concieved naturally and did a test today it would be highly accurate. I did a 5day transfer and had to wait 12 days to test even though I knew I would have got an accurate earlier than that.

Don't worry too much, a few days will fly in. xx

congratulations and I hope it continues to go well for you 🤞🤞🤞 11dpt will definitely be a real result. If you do test tomorrow Try not to worry if the test doesn’t change much in a day, you would see a greater change every 2-3 days xx

There's not really such a thing as a false positive, unless it's the trigger shot (which it shouldn't be given the number of days since transfer). Clinics just have slightly different official days they like you to test, I think so it can give you a strong result and gives even late implanters time to get going. But I've had BFPs from as early as 3dp5dt which turned out to be successful so you've done well to hold out 😀 Congratulations!

OTD is just an arbitrary date made up by the clinic they just can’t book your scan until then as that’s when they are sure, under their procedures, that it’s not trigger (which it won’t be this late after transfer) and that negative is truly a negative (which isn’t relevant for you as it’s postive) so they just need to wait a couple of days until they book you in. It sounds like they’ve made a mistake and gave you test day for a 5dt instead of a 3dt.

The test you’ve taken means you have your positive and that’s not going to change because of a made up date by the clinic your body and your embryo is doing what it’s doing no matter what their paperwork says 🤗 congratulations and wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy xx 💜

It's certainly a real result, congratulations! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the pregnancy progresses smoothly. Drink lots of fluids, take a good prenatal vitamin, and take care. Xxx
