How long can you inject for?

Hi I've been injecting for over 4 weeks on buserelin and now I have a cyst... Just how long I can inject for?

On my first round I was injecting for 6 weeks before I even started on the stimulation drugs. It felt never ending. Good luck with your treatment.

On my last IUI I was injecting for 55 days in total as I didn't respond well. I think they could keep you going for a while yet

Hi Smithkin. As the others have said, you are safe to continue injections for another week or two yet. However, if the cyst does persist, they may need to treat it if it doesn’t settle down. Fingers crossed all will be OK. Diane

Thanks for the reply. I have had previous cycles of IVF but not with this issue...If they have to treat the cyst does that mean IVF treatment has to stop? I am paying privately for this cycle.

Hi Smithkin. Regarding the active cyst you have, it will depend upon the consultant. If it is being kept under control with the down regulation drug, then it may be decided to leave it alone, but to continue with a low dose of down regulation when you start stimulating. Alternatively, he/she may decide to aspirate it, and then carry on. Good luck with whatever is decided. Oh, just to let you know that I only work Monday, Wednesday & Friday – hence late reply. Diane
