Hi ladies, I will hopefully should be having my second embryo transfer in October after it not working the first time, if you are having IVF on the nhs can you ask them to transfer more than one embryo?

Round 2 in October
Hi, we had IVF on the nhs and we were only allowed to have one embryo back.
Hi hun am having ivf on the NHS too and your only allowed to have one put back years back they done more but they don't want multiple births am having my 3 transfer in a few weeks well hopefully hope everything works out in October for you hun xxxx
Hi I have had two failed cycles on both of them they asked if we wanted one or two. They prefer you to have one but they are your eggs so be pushy. I am having my third and final attempt and will definitely be having two put back in.
Good luck and be pushy. All cycles have been NHS.
Nhs ask you to choose between 1 & 2 but have lots of signs up and leaflets about avoiding the risks of multiple births. Having just had first private consultation they seem fine about having two, seems to be more usual to have two if you are over a certain age. Not sure why exactly and am going to research more on results.
My current instinct tells me to just have one ET at a time, as what if I get two put in and both are lost. We only have 3 frozen embryos to work with.
Let me know if you find out any useful research too. Best wishes xxx
Hi Sgreen290515. As you are probably aware by now from all the other replies, the NHS do generally advocate just one embryo to be transferred at each cycle. This is sometimes waived if several failed attempts have happened or that you are in your late 30’s. I do hear of many successes using frozen embryos these days, so fingers crossed that all goes well for you next time. Diane
