Hi all,
Starting my first lot of injections tomorrow. Feeling slightly nervous and excited at the same time. I just don't know what to expect and how it will make me feel. If you have any words of wisdom, it will be much appreciated! Xx

Hi Rach,
Not sure what meds you're on but I was on Buserelin first. I felt a bit tired and had a few headaches, and a little emotional in my second week but otherwise okay. I found drinking lots of water really helped and overall I felt much better than I thought I would. Good luck on your IVF journey and try to take it one day at a time.
Best wishes xxx
I'm on day 5 of my injections tonight. Took a couple of days but I've got used to them and they're not so bad anymore (although I'll be doing 2 a day from today so I might change my mind!). I've found taking it slowly helps and making sure that I pinch the area where I inject first. I also get hubby to make up my injection for me so he feels involved and it's one less thing for me to get stressed about! Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine!
Hi Rach,
My hands were shaking so much the first time and the second time I wimped out and didn't push the needled hard enough and it just kind of bounced back!!! They really are not too bad when you get over the initial fear but make sure you pinch an inch and I found taking a deep breath and counting down helped!
As for the side effects, I didn't really feel anything during the first week but week two was harder. I was very thirsty (keep lots of water bottles handy), had awful hot sweats during the night and felt extremely emotional. Thankfully with the support from other ladies on here and after reading lots of stories I knew this was all part of the process (and not me going insane) so I was able to cope with it. Good luck, you are strong and brave and can do this!! Xxx
Thank you for the lovely message! The injection wasn't to bad this morning, I was quiet surprised. In fact I'm looking forward to getting up in the morning and doing it all over again π. Thank you again for your wise words, I'm glad I have joined this group, it's nice to know people understand how I feel Xx
Hi. On day 4 of long protocol, 1st day was really nervous and it didn't want to go in straight away but after that it's been fine. Our nurse did say not to use the wipes they send as it toughens the skin and can make it more difficult then to inject. Good luck x x
I'm on my second week of bureselin injections (doing a week extra before stimulation Gonal F injections as I'm away next week). I've found week 2 slightly harder. I've found a couple of times I've got tiny bruises from the injections and I've felt a little bit teary. Had hot flushes and i couldnt stop eating chocolate!! Today i feel slightly more in control and have been to shops for avocados, eggs, salad, chicken, salmon, veg etc.
Also on the day i started I was still doing a boot camp style exercise class but my legs took a week to recover. I could hardly walk they were so sore , so I've now switched to my gentle biking, walking and swimming. I have felt quote drained and tired but this is an emotional process for all of us so just try and keep positive and talk it out if you need someone to vent too π Xx
Hi,
Glad you are feeling more in control of your body, although the can't stop eating chocolate sounds good π.
Thank you for the tips it's great to know what it feels like for other people so we know we are not alone.
Wishing you all the best in your journey Xx
