2ww thoughts- Pineapples don't fit easily into your weekly shop.

Just sharing some thoughts I'm having today, please feel free to chip in with new ideas for things to pass the time.

So...

I have 5 more days left on my 2ww and time really seems to have slowed down, no really it has. I have sat, sunday and monday off, which I thought was a good thing, but turns out work actually helps!!

I spent all of last week watching TV and films when I was off work for my ET, so I'm keen to do something else with my time. There is only so much Don't Tell the Bride I can watch.

I have already spent far too long online browsing for the baby room, occasionally buying (but I had to have the Moomin coat hook!!).

I have spent far too long reading my Guide to IVF books which seem to make me worry I've missed something crucial. Plus reading the metro has just plain depressed me.

Facebook world chatter is too much, too inconsequential, too facebook.

I am avoiding any gatherings which involve being offered a drink as I'm fed up saying the latest lie about why I can't drink then holding my breath for a reaction.... Do they assume I'm pregnant & say nothing with knowing smile (urg nooo)...Do they ask me outright if I'm pregnant (how dare they) ... do they simply not give a damn cos they have their own issues to worry about (alcoholism, Tinder addiction). Meanwhile I make do with soda water&lime or some sort of dodgy mocktail and look at my watch until I can leave the drunk people to it. I realise I don't really enjoy being sober when all around you are slightly or fully tipsy.

I now realise I have been preparing for responsible adulthood for 39 years and now here it is.

Ideas to pass the time over the weekend:

As I've told two friends about it all I might arrange to meet up with one of them for lunch. Lunch does not involve a bar :)

As I am not helping self by reading self help- I'm going to read fiction, a healthy escape and involves lying down and drinking Tea(de-caf obv).

My husband- we could go to beach, any beach, a nice walk in nature. Remember the world!

The sock drawer, no I'm not even joking.

The Ebay pile- now be brutal about what is really gonna sell. Those Lord of the Rings stamps failed...

Self Affirmation:

Pineapples don't fit easily into your weekly shop, but they can be included as the bright and vibrant person you are now, right now. They will decorate any home and you will enjoy eating them with ice cream.

Writing this has helped at lot, and has passed some time too :)

I hope anyone still reading this has had a small chuckle. It's not easy is it. But we can do this!!

Best wishes to all on the path.

xxx

Your post made me chuckle!

I have no particular words of wisdom, keeping busy helped me. Try to resist the urge to test early.

Good luck.

Smallcat....that... Is a post ☺

You did make me chuckle.... And i needed one today... Another monthly bfn.

As for that sock drawer, well we all avoid that now don't we?!

Not totally the same situation I'm recovering from my op of having tube removed and can totally sympathise with trying to keep mind active and totally away from what you really want to be thinking about.

I feel like I'm sat on the letter box waiting for my next appointment so I can get started on my IVF journey lol

Your post made me chuckle .

Good luck and sending loads of baby dust x

I felt like time was standing still at this point. I remember thinking "5 more sleeps! How can it possibly be 5 more sleeps"!

My hubby dragged me out to Nando's and the cinema the night before our test and this really was a good distraction! We also watched box sets as I found this much easier than watching Dont Tell The Bride and repeats of Location, Location, Location!

Best of luck with the rest of your wait x

Lol x Love it Smallcat! Hang in there Hon and I'd go for reading fiction. I can loose myself in a good book for hours.

Good luck xxx

Brilliant 😂. Made me smile. Box sets, walks, home baking(!), cinema and chocolate were my saving grace - best wishes x

I really enjoyed your post, it's really funny. Why don't you write some comedy? Can you knit? If not, could this be the time to learn?

Aww thanks everyone. That cheers me up. Knitting is a good idea, I can only do scarves but still a good plan. Cinema too! I've just remembered I used to make art so maybe I'll finally pick up my brush again. Meanwhile Beach walk is happening tomorrow for inspiration. Many pineapple blessings to everyone here, magic is happening. xxx
