Another stupid question

Does the pessaries and progynova keep a period away?

Or what I'm trying to get at is - are meds you take in your 2ww stop you from having a period?

Hi there, I've had thus situation this week myself and my understanding is that it can delay your period but won't ultimately stop it from coming if it wants to come. Good luck x

I'm on my 2nd round of IVF and on the 2ww now and the nurse did say that the amount of progesterone I'm on 4 pessaries a day and 6 progynova tablets per day that I shouldn't really have a period until I stop taking them ( 4 days it took on my first cycle after a neg result, for period to come ) Hope that helps answer your question. and good luck to you for a POSITIVE result xxx

That is true. I'm on pessary twice a day and no bleeding at all. It's progesterone stops you from bleeding and to help the support the implantation. I know a lot of girls here who got their periods or any sort of spotting before their test day.

I think it can delay it... however like babylucas said I have known a lot of people get spotting and AF properly start before their otd. So it isn't the sake for everyone x

In my second round of 2ww, I was fearing bleeding each day, nurse told me not to worry, the progynova and pessaries wouldn't let you bleed normally, meaning that don't take bleeding as a sign of BFN until you check it on due date. The same happened. On due date BFN and I was told to stop pessaries and progynova then I bled after four days.

All I can say is I felt more helpless in finding out sign before due date as it was like a black hole to guess what's happening inside me!!
