Hi ladies I am now 6days past transfer when is it safe to have sex and orgasm again??

I was always told no sex until after test day. Mainly due to possible infection.

Well, I was told by my clinic NOTHING until after test day, but even if you do (fingers crossed) get your BFP, be aware that sex/orgasm can actually trigger slight bleeds even later, and throughout the first few weeks of pregnancy.

It can happen:

a) because there has been a missed miscarriage and the sex/orgasm actually starts the process of blood loss (it cannot CAUSE the miscarriage but CAN cause the body to start to discard the blood).

b) because the sex/orgasm can trigger the loss of implantation blood that has been lurking around for a while.

In my case I bled at 6 weeks for no apparent reason and then at 7 weeks after orgasm. I was told that the first bleed was probably miscarriage of one of my two embryos, and the second was just residual blood possibly from implantation, triggered by the 'fun'.

I really do not want to scare you but I think it is important to know the facts so that you are a bit more in control. The good news for me is that even after my 2 quite heavy bleeds I am now 31 weeks pregnant. I truly wish the same joy for you xx
