Oh sweet it's such a roller coaster of a ride. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all have days like that. Days where everything around you is to do with babies magazines, tv etc.....but look at the positives you are taking smalls steps to achieve a (fingers crossed) postive outcome.

I've been the same. Up and down. Emotional and snappy with hubby but he understands as ultimately we both want the same thing.

Make sure you talk to people hun, get yourself out the house whether it be for a walk or coffee with friends etc. Lots of us feel like this and I think it's perfectly acceptable to have down days but make sure you also put that postive head on too. 😃.

Wishing you lots of luck hun. Xx

Thank you so much for the reply I really appreciate it. It's been a hard emotional weekend. But just back from a chat with my sister, and she helped me back on the right road. God this is hard !!! Emotional roller coaster, if it was a roller coaster it would be the biggest in the world. Thanks again .S x

We were warned about the emotional roller coaster before treatment started. The emotional side and waiting has been very difficult for me, it's better now we're undergoing treatment. It's OK to feel anxious especially as you are waiting for test results, it might help to talk to a counsellor or write down things in a journal. I find it helps to get things out of my head by sharing it with someone else or writing it down. Try to have some things planned, like Mooster1 suggests coffee with friends, going for a walk.

Hopefully your blood tests will be OK and you can get started with your treatment. Thyroid seems to be very important so best to get that sorted if there is an issue.

All the best.

Glad to hear talking to your sister helped, it's important to have people you can get support from.

You're right it is really hard, I feel better now the treatment has started as something is actually happening!

The medication will get your thyroid to the right level so you can start IVF. The waiting is frustrating and draining.

All the best!

Hi sweet first of all sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. Also I can sympathize with you as I've had issues with my thyroid too. I had screening blood tests like you my clinic wanted my tsh to be under 2.5 and there is a good reason for it having a slight raised thyroid can hinder potential implantation. So it's great that it has been found. I was prescribed thyroxine 50 mcg one daily and then my clinic had me repeat the tsh blood test after taking thyroxine for 3 weeks and happily it went from 3.9 to 1.56.. I'm still taking it now.,,

Sadly I've had to postpone my ivf again was meant to start this month but due to other reasons (for some reason I've started bleeding in between my periods so my dr is running investigations ) it's terribly frustrating and I do really get that to have to delay treatment but unless you're 100% ok there is no point in going ahead and having less chance of it working, a failed cycle would be so much worse. That's what I had to keep telling myself...

Just to say you're not alone and please don't feel alone. This situation is incredibly hard I lean on my hubby too when I'm having a bad day with it. And most of time he really dose not know what to say to make me feel better but that's ok coz he listens and best of acknowledges my feelings without patronizing me and comforts me when I need him :) I hardly ever talk to friends and family I just don't think they get it. Unless you're in this god awful situation you can't fully understand how much this impacts on daily life...

Have you considered counseling? I know it's not for everyone but if may help when dealing with such painful emotions. Just a thought...,

I'm sure thyroid will be resolved in no time at all and you're be starting your ivf before you know :) ...

Here if you need a chat Hun hope you feel better soon it's ok to have bad days we all do take care big hugs jess xxxx

Hello

Everyone on this site understands how you are feeling and its a great place to find support. It's been invaluable for me.

One thing you might find helpful is to speak to a counsellor (if you've not already). That's really helped me. Before I saw my counsellor, I was very distressed and crying all the time. I'm not saying its easy now (I still have bad days) but in general I am much calmer, more relaxed and generally in a much better place to start IVF than I was before.

Aside from that, I think the best you can do is try to keep busy and do things you enjoy and that help you to relax. I enjoy reading and baking seems to help too. I also started a tai chi class that's been great (but yoga and Pilates are good too).

Take care of yourself and I hope you're able to start treatment soon x
