Hi I'm 25 years old and just about to start my IVF journey! I had to have both my Fallopian tubes removed and have PCOS. I have had all my bloods and scans done and just waiting for my next appointment but I only get 1 go on the NHS so wondered if anyone had any useful tips? Thanks

Hi Jade. I'm not sure if its a helpful tip or not but i've got my first consultation on Thursday & i'm asking for my nhs treatment to be transferred to a private clinic that i've researched & i know people that have had success there. I know my nhs consultant does do referrals to them as its something i spoke to the secretary about. I also get just 1 try & my nhs trust will not freeze embryos so if my first go didnt work with them i'd have to pay private for everything including the investigation tests from scratch. With my first go i am going to pay the private clinic £350 to have any embryos frozen as i believe treatment using frozen will cost less than half the price of a full fresh cycle. Hope this makes sense. All the luck in the world for you both. Andrea x
Hi, my tip is to relax. I went NHS first time and I found it quite traumatic I didn't prepare myself for it. Unfortunately it didn't work and my remaining embryos I froze . under That one cycle I got another go with the frozen which was successful.
I tried again with remaining and it didn't work so I've had to go private. This private cycle has been very different because I know what to expect with egg collection more comfortable with the procedures. I'm sure you will be fine. just relax, take time off work if you can and spoil yourself.
Might be worth asking them about endometrial scratching-they tend to only do it for people who have had ivf cycles before, but if it is your only go on the nhs then its worth asking about and also to find out if they only promote single or multiple attempts...
Good luck x
