Starting ivf: Hello .. just waiting for... - Fertility Network UK
Starting ivf
The zita west books are good x
Hi I bought a book called the complete guide to ivf by Kate Brian . I got it on amazon . Really simple step by step info. I'm taking pregacare vitamins and just trying to be really healthy lots of fruit veg and I've heard protein is really good too for healthy eggs. Cut down on caffeine too . I have to say though, I've tried the herbal teas and I can't stand any of them ( be careful too if buying herbal teas especially nettle or liquorice tea as read they are linked to miscarriage. I think it's fine to have the odd tea or coffee .
Hope this helps s bit. I'm just waiting to start my period and then I can start my meds. All very exciting . Xxx
Fertility and Assisted Conception by Zita West arrives today. hope your appointment comes through soon. I'm a little ahead of you. x
Ahhhhh thanks ... will get it. What clinic are you going to ?
We are waiting for our appointment on feb 11th to see nurse ready to start our first cycle of ICSI. Ive just read Get A Life: His & Hers Survival Guide to IVF by Rosie Bray it was a brilliant book and gave me some insite into the process and good questions to ask, it was funny in places and has sections your partner can read that are written by her husband. Ive just ordered the Zita West book as heard thats good for diet etc. Going for an acupunture appointment on Thursday as everyone has said its great and I want to try and do as much as possible 😊
I've got these 3 books and are great. Also try "it starts with an egg". You'll feel better having read up! X
Thanks so much. I've had to lose 3 stone in weight and now we have been referred it seems really surreal !
Hi, kc21! We're also waiting for our 1st app. It's going to be on the 8th of Feb, if everything is ok. We're considering to book 5 attempts de ivf program. Judging from our diagnosis and my age I'm just realistic. Besides this package is attractive from financial point of view.
As for the diet I'm eating healthy food, no fast food, no fizzy drinks. Also take supplementary vitamins to gain more energy.
Where are you going to apply for the treatment and what it will be, if you don't mind me asking?
Hi We have been referred for ivf due to my right tube being blocked x I've gone for the bride centre on London as I work in London so will be easier when trying to get time off. What about you ? We get 2 fresh and 2 frozen on the nhs ... i had to lose 3 stone though ... I've practically not eaten for a year ... been hard work .. last stone been a struggle especially with xmas but I'm finally there ! What about u? X
