Hiya, sorry it's taken a while.. If I'm correct as it feels like ages ago now I was waiting roughly 6 weeks or so from the referral letter went in till getting a reply.. The reply then allows you to book an appointment within I think about 4 weeks.. It really didn't feel really long though... So was really excited.. Like I said the only reason we haven't started treatment yet is if you qualify for funding on the NHS there certain criteria you need to fit into.. Each NHS trust I'd different.. And you can find out online, however coventrys ivf unit is yet to print what their criteria is.. But I do know.. You cannot have any child under 18 living with you.. You must have been trying to conceive for 3 years, your Body Mass Index must be under 30.. Unfortunately being over weight mine was 38 which is why I'm working on getting it down.... Coventry do have a website actually which is really helpful... I will post the link at the bottom of this.. I will say they are really lovely though, and feel like they care about what they are doing, but leave plenty of time to park as parking is a nightmare and there are always long queues to get into that hospital.. I'm lucky essentially I only live about 3 miles away the last how many times we have gone have been a nightmare parking.. And we literally end up sprinting through the hospital grounds with mins to spare till our appointment!!! So I think this time we might just catch the bus as it's easier!!! Like I said in my other post the consultant said last time being all straight forward some people come in a start treatment within weeks.. Have you already had some tests done by your GP.. We had already had some tests and were referred as my partners sperm count was literally nothing... And then at our first appointment we found out I also still have cysts .. So I may need an op to remove my tubes before we start treatment.. But again can't start until my BMI is down... Can't tell you how much the word BMI gets on my nerves!!!!! Lol

Anyway hopefully you won't have to wait to long and co wing on here has helped me loads as I've met women whom are in the same situation as me and that has been great just to talk and have a moan!! And also get support..

Anyway here's the link

uhcw.nhs.uk/ivf Gives you loads of info on there..

Hi Lisa Jane thank you so much for your post you are so helpful I'm feeling so more optimistic, at least I know regards to the parking I won't be late for any appointments and thank you again for all your support and how this has been so nice to actually speak to somebody who's going or gone through more or less the same as myself. I have had tests done at Solihull hospital, it was just put down to unexplained so now and next day in IVF still waiting for our letter I will call the next week if I don't hear anything as it will be hitting five weeks. How nice you are to send me the link I will sit down and have a look thank you very much again Lisa Jane and good look for yourself as well. Belle xxxxx

We've been waiting about 6 weeks now for a referral to Hammersmith. It's so frustrating ! I have telephoned them too. They don't give much away other than confirming they've received the referral.

it probably depends where you are.. we were referred to St Marys due to our local hospital not doing IVF. They make you repeat all your tests/scan/SA etc then we were told it would be at least 12 weeks before we had an appt.. that was the beginning of Feb and we are still waiting. I rang last week and they said there are still processing appointments from Dec/Jan so REALLY annoying

hope yours is a lot quicker...
