Hi there I'm brand new to this!! My fertility doctor has referred me for IVF treatment but it's going to be at another hospital to the one where I have been having my current treatment. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get your initial appointment? xoxo

hi, which hospital? I'm in Leeds and apparently no waiting list once you are referred to start treatment and all initial tests done

Thanks lousiear I'm being referred to the Women's in Liverpool. I've had all my tests done/investigations done at Whiston Hospital and they think the best plan for me is IVF so fingers crossed I'm not waiting too long for my appointment to come through! xoxo

hi sweetie. i think it depends, coz i had my prev att at a nw place but had to wait, although my situation was a bit different. if all your tests are ok and all medicals are done then maybe you don't need to wait at all. anyways, you better ask your dr. fingers crossed fr you x

Hi I'm down in Devon, and had to be transferred. From the day I knew I had to be transferred my next appointment was between 2-3 months at the new clinic, but a consultant had left maybe causing some delay. Your in the system now which is great, but I know the waiting is the hardest part of it all.x

Hi as others have mentioned it really depends on the clinic, ours was a referral from another NHS clinic for ICSI and took 6 months for the 1st app & had to redo all tests, just so you know as it came as a shock to us how long it can take before any treatment starts. Best of luck on your journey, this site really is a great source of support and advice xx
