I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and if that means the sperm are dead or just motionless. I would really appreciate any good news stories or anyone going through the same thing to chat to. All very shocking for us both

We have just found out that my bf sperm is 100% immobile. therefore we are doing icsi on the nhs. I'm at the injections stage....
hi, the fact that you're going for icsi means they are viable and you bf's sperm will be used to make your embryos. icsi is often used as the ivf image on the news. an individual sperm is taken and injected directly into the egg. this is instead of them both being left t do their own thing in a petri dish, and therefore significantly increases the chance of creating viable embryos.
we used icsi as our protocol, and we have a 2 month old baby.
Thanks flowergirl for your info, I really appreciate it. The nurse told us that we have to have it at the back of our minds that the eggs won't fertilise. Ivf is so tough and at first I was trying to be super upbeat, but this news has knocked our confidence a lot. Did your husband have similar issue ? Fantastic news about your baby, send me some of your baby dust please
hi, think of it that it is better to do icsi then continue with straightforward ivf, where you wouldn't get any. you are increasing your chances. but this level of fertility treatment s physically and emotionally tough - focus on keeping your emotions positive and level rather than going up and down. wishing you the best of luck.
Had the same problem and in my case things did not workout because if other factors such as egg quality, i also learnt that only God has the power to create and thats where my hope lies
Hi rungano, thanks for your reply, my egg quality isn't great either. Did you have icsi too? At first I was doing really well with the Ivf journey, but when we found out about my bf sperm it has knocked our confidence a lot. It's a very lonely path, but all we can do is cross our fingers and hope. I wish you all the luck in the world
Hi, I really hope things work out for you and your bf and ICSI works for you and you have your family you've been hoping for. x
Thanks Charlene that's really sweet of you. I hope the same for you too. Thankfully I've had a promotion at work and I'm really enjoying my new job even though its super busy. It's doing a brilliant job of taking my mind off things
