I've had 2 tries at IVF which didn't work. I've just had a lap in December and hoping to try 1 more time with IVF, the counsultant said to leave it a month before we try after the lap, but I was talking to a counsullor there and she said it would be better at least 3-6 months . At the moment, I'm having real bad painful and heavy periods, although the last one was slightly better, so I'm wondering if she could be right. The only other thing that worries me, as well as whether it works or not( I really hope it does!) is my age I'm now 42. Is there anyone else here going through anything like this? or even gone through it. I feel really lost and alone at the moment.

Hi Rosie,

I'm 39 and have endo. I had two IVF attempts and a radical excision of my endo. My consultant said leave it a month before trying again but my counsellor suggested leaving it until after 6 months. I followed her advice and it was the best thing to do as it allowed me time to recover mentally from previous rounds and to work on my diet and have acupuncture to prepare myself. At our third attempt I got pregnant and I now have a beautiful daughter which I had given up all hope of having. I worried about my age but I think if your mind is in a better place it helps the ivf as in the two week wait I was less stressed and felt hopeful for once. Hi Miwa, .Firstly congratulations :-)....Thank you very much for your reply.That is a really great help, I really need to sort myself out both mentally and physically before I start again, so seeing that it worked for you after doing that, gives me hope. xx
