Pain after egg collection

Hi all. I had egg retrieval on Wednesday but I am still in a lot of pain in my abdomen. Not sure what to do? Is this normal?

Hi Heda what other symptoms you have? After my egg collection last week i developed.OHSS so transfer was cancelled.x

Hey my main symptoms are just abdominal pain and pain in bladder area and ovaries feel quite sore. But unfortunately my eggs didnt fertilise.

thats normal hun was you given painkillers? drink plenty of fluids and keep urine clear. i drank alot.of non fizzy lucozade and it perks you up. plenty of rest and just take it easy. i found a hot water bottle helped the discomfort, especially when you need to sleep. i am very sorry to hear of.this Heda. was this on the NHS? x

Yeah it was on nhs. They have called me back in 3 months time and they said they'll insert the sperm into the egg. But I'll see if I want to go through the process again.

oh so you had normal ivf? i had icsi. definately do it again via icsi as theres a higher chance of fertilisation, certainly dont give up. take care and keep in touch x

Hi I'v had egg retrieval twice both times with quiet severe pain afterwards. I was warned in advance of the procedure this might happen as my left ovary is high. They needed to manipulate my ovary into a lower position to extract any eggs by pushing on my abdomen externally. Hope this is of some use.

I had egg collection yesterday and had had awful pain when sitting down around my bum... Also can't stop running to the loo to pass water. Tummy a little bloated

Aww I hope you feel better soon. As every one has advised take plenty of fluid and rest. Take pain killers if needed. I hope the rest of the treatment goes well for you. A week today and I still feel bloated!
