I hope you're well. Anyone else have experience of gestational diabetes? Been so good with my diet and glucose levels are still high. Went on insulin on Tuesday and levels are still high and been increased once already. Hope we can find the right dosage soon as I worry about the impact of this on my baby.
Thanks! X

The most important point is that this condition has been found and you are receiving treatment for it It can happen at any stage of pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth It also means you will be closely monitored during your pregnancy Speak to your midwife about your concerns
Hi lovely, I had this during my pregnancy and my baby is now 6 months and I have been cleared of it. It was really really tough I found but I forgot about it soon after. As Janet said, feel reassured that they found it and will monitor you closely and offer you options for the birth. My baby is healthy and all is ok! I don’t mind you asking me any questions if you wish to! I used to walk quite a lot after meals, and it helped to bring levels down, you might already been doing that x
Hi there, thanks so much for replying. I'm glad you're cleared of diabetes now and have a healthy baby. I have been walking too after meals and eating well but fasting levels and sometimes post breakfast blood glucose levels continue to be high. Have increased insulin dosage as of today. Just hope they're under control soon. It's tough dealing with all of this after years of fertility treatment and miscarriages. Was hoping for an easy ride with the pregnancy. The time of year doesn't help either with Christmas looming. Really missing eating certain foods such as, chocolate. X
Yes for me it was one of the toughest things about pregnancy as I was constantly hungry because of the lack of carb in my diet, they also kept finding ketones in my urine, so I was constantly worried. Hopefully the insulin will do the trick for you. I totally understand how hard it is after years of fertility issues I went through 3 years of it too and expected to enjoy pregnancy but it was tough
It really is so horrible and the constant testing of blood glucose levels adds to the mental load. Sorry to hear you were hungry all the time and had ketones. Hope your baby arrived safely.I had three years of fertility treatment too - it's a long and difficult road.
Thanks re insulin. I definitely feel less tired after starting insulin. My fasting blood glucose levels are so erratic though. Today was 8.1. Not sure if the fact that I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant has meant a surge of hormones that causes this high reading as I was told the placenta does cause a surge at 32 weeks.
Hope you have a really lovely Christmas and can eat whatever you like. X
