Migraines in pregnancy

Hello,

I am 12 weeks today. Over the weekend I had an intense migraine with lots of vomiting and was not able to hold any water down for about 24 hrs. I couldn't get through to my midwife as it's the weekend and I didn't want to go to A&E. I am getting over it now and have managed to drink and eat something this morning. I am a migraine sufferer anyway and usually get one of these before a period so this has really worried me something is wrong. Has anyone else suffered from migraines during pregnancy? Has everything been ok and how do you cope?

Hi there - I have. It was definitely the cyclogest for me. They went as soon as I weaned myself off it at 14 weeks.

I was also a migraine sufferer, but hormone related usually pre period.

Hope this improves for you as the pregnancy progresses.

Do get help with this - don't suffer in silence. Xxx

Thank you for your reply. I've just stopped taking cyclogest so hopefully that will help. Managed to speak to a midwife for reassurance. Got my scan in a couple of days so hopefully everything will be ok. Feeling loads better now, it just really scared me at the time as so many people said the migraines would stop during pregnancy.

Great news - cyclogest meant acne and migraines for me.

Hopefully that is the last of the migraines for you now the medication has stopped.

Best of luck with your scans. 🥰
