8+3 light beige discharge again

PrincessGurn1984 profile image

Hi everyone, I’ve had some light beige discharge again today, had this very early on after my official test day, it tapered off and only got the odd bit here and there but the past 2/3 days I’ve had slightly more than normal. This morning probably had the most since the time just after my OTD. It’s really worried me so booked a scan tomorrow morning but in the meantime wanted to see what you think? It can’t be implantation as I’m too far along for that? My nausea has stopped to the past week which also worries me. I had a scan at my clinic at 7+3 but obviously as we know things can change quickly and it’s only a snap shot of time when that’s done. I also had a dull mild ache in my left side yesterday afternoon through to the evening. Also TMI it always seem to be more present the light beige discharge if I wipe just before I’m about to empty my bowls (it’s definitely from the front side though!). Thanks

hiya, if there’s no red i think there’s probably not too much to worry about. I’ve had a bit of dark brownish discharge, not on wiping but just from the day. It’s stopped again now but when i checked with EPU she said quite normal. I’ve also still not been too nauseous, some foods make me feel a bit off and I don’t crave much - but I’ve not been sick and some days i feel totally fine. Symptoms can vary though, and it’s likely that I’ll either get sick a bit later on or I’ll be a lucky one! So try to not worry too much - right now is when the placenta is starting to be properly established so it could be that 🙃

I’m stressing cus i grabbed a sandwich when out and halfway through eating it realised it had melted brie in it!! GAH

Thanks for the reassurance it’s so hard not to worry, I want my naseua to come back 😂 it was reassuring having it with me and it’s making me second guess that some of my symptoms have subsided. I’m hoping everything at my scan goes ok tomorrow but I just think the worst. I really want to enjoy being pregnant but it’s hard after loss and infertility to be positive x

oh believe me I’m 100% worried about every little thing too - including my lack of sickness and nausea! I have a scan on Tuesday and im petrified and it feels so weird to have midwife appointments coming up (i feel like I’ve jinxed things?). So I totally get it.

I was recently (pre-transfer) referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic cus I’ve had 5 without live birth and when i spoke with them yesterday, they gave me a bunch of stats about chance of miscarriage per week of pregnancy and it helped a bit - approaching 9 weeks our odds are ever increasing. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you tmr, let us know how it goes x

It’s wishing away time isn’t it until every next scan, I’ve never felt time move so slowly 😂 I keep telling myself that just make it to 9 weeks, then to 10 weeks etc and odds are in our favour. As we are still in this 8 week area it makes me feel things could go either way. I’m normally an optimistic person but I haven’t been at all with this. I’ll let you know how tomorrow goes x

Try not to worry too much most likely due to hormone levels. Also, pregnancy symptoms can come and go and only natural that you feel stressed at this time Take a look at this group for extra support facebook.com/groups/Pregnan... next zoom meeting is 23rd Nov

Look after yourself

It's hard not to worry I know, but some spotting can be totally normal. I am almost 13 weeks now and have had pretty much constant spotting and a few instances of red bleeding, i've had a few scans and everything looks fine with baby. Best of luck with your scan x

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I had my scan this morning 7.30am! And all is looking well, baby is actually measuring slightly ahead now by 1/2 days which is nice to see and could see it wriggling around and tiny little arm buds 🥰 I’m glad I went though as before my appointment early this morning I had more of the light beige discharge and feared the worst. She told me lots of women worry especially after infertility and IVF so that was reassuring that it’s not just me being a hypochondriac 🙈 let’s face facts I’ll probably go weekly until my 12 weeks scan 🤪 x

yay!!! So happy for you 😊 gah I can’t wait until mine on Tuesday now. I actually will have biweekly now too as they offer it in the recurrent loss clinic. And i have to say knowing I’ll have them has made me feel so much better as it’s not too long to wait x

Thank you! Hoping Tuesday comes around quickly for you! Let us know how it goes. I think really we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do to get through these first 12 weeks! If something is wrong rather know sooner than later x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

thanks for asking 😊 yes all good, they were happy and discharged me from EPU (unless needed). Had first midwife appointments today and dating scan booked so it’s all feeling very real and surreal! I fly to Barcelona tomorrow for work and I’m feeling nervous about that. How are you doing?

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

Yay so happy for you! Brilliant news. Enjoy Barcelona, the weather will be better than here that’s for sure 😂 doing ok thanks, went for another scan tonight as my discharge has got worse and I’ve got a subchorionic hematoma, very annoying. It wasn’t visible on my scan last Friday so must have got bigger since but she said it’s common in IVF pregnancies and nothing I can do x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

thank you! Oh goodness, what does that mean? Is there any risk or it usually goes away on its own?

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

Apparently it normally goes away by 12 weeks, but we shall see! There’s nothing they can do I’ve just got to rest. I think it can slightly increase chance of miscarriage x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

just had my 10+3 and they say i have a small subchorionic hematoma so def common 😞 but they didn’t seem to concerned and heartbeat strong so taking it as a good sign!

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

Oh no sorry to hear you have one too! Honestly the more people I speak to it’s so so common with IVF pregnancies! But it explains why we have both had the same spotting doesn’t it! Glad your scan went well, not long to go until 12 weeks! Did they take you off the baby aspirin? I’ve found that’s really helped my spotting to stop! X

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

yes exactly! They seemed really unconcerned about it to be honest. And I think quite small so taking comfort in that. The baby was moving around so much today it was amazing to see. I think I’ll feel better at 12 weeks but mostly keen to get to 16/20 now. I was never on aspirin! Maybe that’s why I’ve had less spotting than you? Mine has been quite little and usually only here and there (coming off utrogestan really helped). But yeah my last pregnancy i was on fragmin and when i started spotting at 5 weeks (pre-miscarriage) it was much heavier than other ones. X

PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

How are you getting on? When’s your 12 week scan? Ours might be the same! My hematoma has gotten bigger. So frustrating x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

yeah ok thanks - still not much nausea just food aversion at times and a bit of queasiness. Odd! Really sore boobs though so am oddly happy about that hahaha. 12 week scan is at 12+3 next weds 23rd and god it cannot come soon enough. Exactly 11 weeks today and on countdown to next Monday! Oh man that sucks - did they seem concerned about it at all? Have you had more discharge? X

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

Not long to wait eeek! Glad you are feeling good! Agree it’s nice to have some symptoms isn’t it 😂 very welcome to stick to around for us! Me too cannot wait for next Monday feels like a big milestone! I went to the shops on Saturday and the beige discharge was heavier, so I rested yesterday and today and it’s been minimal. So it shows that moving makes it come out more, but equally it’s not good to sit around all day! Are you on rest yourself for it or allowed to go for walks and stuff? It’s just so frustrating I really want the hematoma to go away now so I can just enjoy the pregnancy! X

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

ah nice! For some reason I thought i was a day ahead of you - cool we’re the same day 😊 also due 4th June? Lol yup tho I’m still curious about the lack of bad nausea - how’s yours? Haha yup i can cope with sore boobs tbf! Ah ok so yeah you really have to rest. Must be very frustrating! Not from the hematoma ( the recurrent miscarriage clinic barely even acknowledged it so i guess was quite small), but my consultant said rest due to history so only light walks, no exercise, sex, lifting etc. until 12 weeks. Main difference from recurrent miscarriage clinic is they told me to stay on progesterone until 16 weeks so now i have four more weeks of that to go too xx

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

I’ve got sore boobs and backache and constantly hungry 😂 I’m due 5th June, my last period started 29th August so yours must have been the 28th August then? Im exactly 12 weeks on 21st November. Yeah that sounds sensible, I’m debating if to go into work tomorrow on the train and desk job, so it’s not particularly physical. But it seems being at home it’s got bigger anyway! So not sure what to do really. That’s a good idea staying on progesterone for longer x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

Oh yes the backache!! I’m mostly tired and i wake up every night at 3ish and can’t sleep again for ages 😞 OH lol so am I 12 weeks on Sunday?! That’s crazy. Yeah i went into London today - I like staying busy it makes the time pass faster and I have less time to google and panic lol. Yeah not sure how long you’re on it, but I’d ask at 12 week scan as it seems there’s a trend of clinics advising 12 weeks and then the consultants in loss recommending 16 weeks x

PrincessGurn1984 profile image
PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

I’ve been having that same sleep pattern! Going to sleep 9.30/10 as tired but then wake about 4 and can’t go back to sleep 🙈 that’s what I’m hoping for by going back into the office I can take my mind off it to make the time go quicker! I’m on annual leave Thursday and Friday this week too so that will be nice! That’s really interesting I’m definitely going to ask when I go for my 12 week scan although not sure a sonographer can prescribe it x

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

it’s a nightmare isn’t it! My husband sent me an article today that says apparently tart cherry juice helps you sleep… but i think drinking juice will just make me wee more 🤣 yeah we’ve ended up having loads of plans after this FET and it’s honestly been way better - exhausting! - but the time has passed much faster. I even had to fly for work for a few days. So yeah if you don’t need to walk too much to go into the office I definitely recommend. Ooh lovely a 3 day week 😊 yeah perhaps you can ask the nurse/midwife tho?

Hey! Good thanks just got back, was the last appointment of the day - today has dragged! Scan went well and all looking good yay! Was in there for nearly an hour they were very thorough which is great! Just waiting on our Harmony blood test results still from clinic so hopefully get them later this week, didn’t have the NHS blood tests done for that, discussed it with them at my scan and they said if people have had the Harmony they tend to advice not doing it or you can get conflicting results and Harmony is more accurate. They said the choice was ours and we said we would wait for Harmony. Just hoping that comes back ok, another thing to worry about until then 😂 My hematoma has shrunk slightly to 2.1cmx1.4cm so it’s great that it’s very slowly getting smaller and not bigger which is a relief! Just have to ride it out I think. Will probably get a private scan at 14/15 weeks to check on it. NHS said they aren’t concerned but they appreciate it’s easier said than done when it’s your body lol. Eeek how are you feeling about your scan tomorrow? Excited for you! X

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply toPrincessGurn1984

oh amazing! So glad it went well 😊 really good they were thorough - that’s good. And great news on the hematoma, phew! Yup feeling excited but anxious. Just want the all ok now and honestly to get to 20 weeks! Also considering private scan earlier than 20 weeks x

PrincessGurn1984 in reply toLolalules

20 weeks is so long to wait between appointments! I think once we can feel them move that really will be reassuring! X

all good! Everything healthy and normal, and the hematoma is gone too. Now the long wait to 20 weeks!!

I got my harmony NIPT test results back today and all normal. Phew! X
