nausea disappeared and low glucose

Hi, are low glucose levels an indication of a miscarriage? I might just be overly paranoid but today, no nausea and levels have been below 6 all day which rarely happens even straight after eating. I have diabetes and am only 7 weeks. 😟

Hello, nausea can disappear and it doesn't necessarily mean it is a sign of a miscarriage. With low glucose levels, I've not heard of it being a indicator but I'm not specialised in this. It could be that the baby is taking all of your glucose, they are very selfish and take what they need.

thank you for your reply. I’m just worried as the day I had the transfer my sugar levels rose (I do have type 2) so this was a good indication that I was pregnant! Now it’s gone down I can’t help but panic. I’m away from home now and I’ve been discharged from my clinic so I don’t have anyone to call but I guess all I can do is ride it out as there’s nothing I can do if baby is no more xx

I guess you can call your GP and get a telephone appointment or contact the local maternity department. In your case it would be EPU as you are 7 weeks.

Thank you for your reply, what’s EpU? My gp is useless, I do need to contact them anyway to register with a midwife but my understanding is that they are not going to see me until 10 weeks. I have been thinking about a private scan when I get back home.

EPU is early pregnancy unit. If you call the main switchboard at the hospital they should be able to put you through. The private scan is a good idea too if you don't mind paying and it it's difficult to get in touch with the hospital.
