Anti D query!

Hey ladies.

So I’m 13+3 today and had the one perfect daring scan on Tuesday (I was petrified)♥️

Anyway I’ve had 2 quite substantial bleeds at 5+5 and 9 weeks due to a hematoma.

I’ve had some brown spotting last night ans today and as I’m over 12 weeks 100% thought I would need an anti d due to being rhesus negative. They’ve always been pretty firm on new bleeds after 12 weeks you need one.

Anyway midwife said it’s ok until 28 weeks, I’m so confused this has never been the case and I’m worried.

Any advice from ladies of the same blood type? ♥️♥️

I would definitely phone the early pregnancy unit for a second opinion as I had anti d injections following quite small bleeds at 13 and 16 weeks. They told me they would take some blood and test to see whether it was required or not. It's horrible having the extra worry when rhesus negative. I am 37 weeks and have needed about 7 so far in this pregnancy due to unexplained bleeding. But every midwife or GP I have ever spoken to as soon as I mention it they have insisted that I speak to early pregnancy unit before 16 weeks or maternity assessment unit once I was passed 16 weeks.

That’s what I’ve always thought.

I’m waiting for a call back, early pregnancy unit seem to be unavailable. I really feel I need one as have pinky discharge now. I can’t believe there is so much conflicting advice out there. Thank you for reply xx

Hi Woody, I had exactly the same scenario as you and questioned it but they insisted it was ok until 28 weeks. Protocol seems to vary between hospitals. I did stay on extra progesterone until 16 weeks & had the anti D at 28 weeks. Wee one has arrived safely. Hope that helps a little.x

It really does, thank you!

I stopped progesterone at 12 weeks, I’m tempted to ask clinic if I should start taking it again. I did have a hematoma so I’m hoping it’s just the very last bit from that.

It’s all such a constant worry but thanks for your positive message♥️
