Diet and Stress

I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and really worried I am not able to take care of myself.

I have a stressful job and a toddler.

I am taking lots of supplements but I am worried my diet isn't good enough.....I find it hard to eat massive meals and don't often feel like cooking.

I am also not sleeping.

1st pregnancy I wasn't working and didn't have a toddler.

Is anyone else struggling to keep on top of things 1st trimester?

x

Hahaha I feel the same 😂 8 weeks

Toddler

Travelling 3 day through Europe

Haven't had a proper meal in 3 days unless you count KFC and coke 😂

Some women have horrible food aversion some get stick all the time and they are still giving birth to health babies. I'm sure I'll be fine too 😁

Yea that's what I was thinking - just so hard to prep decent food when you are exhausted with no appetite!

Glad I am not alone!!

I would love a KFC right now! 🤣

Oh as guilty as I felt it was delicious 😋 Few hours later we had ice-cream I'm McDonalds 😂 I'm secretly hoping that nausea will change into a bit of sickness so I loose some weight (joking).

I think any weight will fall off running after 2 kids! X

Yes, feel so defeated. Feel like my toddler is not getting the best of me right now

I felt horribly guilty a week ago when we've spent a week watching TV and napping every day because I was so tired!

I am right there too! Exactly the same x

I feel you… work is slamming me… I want to/tend to spend so much time in bed. And all I want is crisps. And coke. Like vegetables repulse me.

I had such high hopes of being an organic dream.

My midwife said not to worry and it passes! I’m holding on to that right now!

Yes it seems like a lot of people in the same boat - I just want pizza 24/7...no interest in 'normal' food....

With work - in my head I am already winding down - nobody knows I am pregnant yet!

Well hope work calms - good your midwife reassured you.

X

I had similar fears about nutrition in pregnancy at a certain stage when my nausea was overwhelming for weeks on end. I researched it at the time and the upshot is baby will take what it needs from your reserves and body so ultimately unless you were severally malnourished and dehydrated, baby will get absolutely everything they need. It's you who will suffer a little instead which isn't ideal 🙈 but I did find it reassuring at the time. I didn't have a toddler but a really hectic work schedule and a large, lively labrador who needs hours of walking every day so I made sure I had things like coconut water, healthy bottled fruit&veg smoothies like 'innocent', I just made sure I read all the ingredients closely and chose ones with low sugar and sodium. Anyway! Hopefully you'll be sleeping a little better soon and feeling better too. Take care xx

Thanks that's reassuring - I think I was in a fantasy land last pregnancy, with no work or commitments....x
