Can hcg rise be too quick?

Hi ladies .. new to this page. Had a long infertility journey. Year trying naturally, 2 years with NAPRO.. MC at 10 weeks. 5 ivf cycles .. all transfers resulted in CP. Was told I had very high immune issues and did lots of various immune meds .. which made my immunes flare even more. Was told surrogacy was my only option.

Did a retrieval.. and we transfered today to our surrogate.

However a few days ago I had a positive test.. was a complete shock - Friday beta was 645, had retested Monday and results came in today also .. was hoping they would have been back yday to possibly cancel the surrogate transfer . Anyways levels were 2454 which is quiet a big rise.

To say the least we are totally gobsmacked.. I am booked in for an early scan next week.

Would be interested to see what you guys think of these hcg results? .. my first pregnancy hcg rose slowly and was suspected ectopic which I had surgery for, however pregnancy was in uterus but not developing properly. So this one seems to be the total opposite ... thanks for reading

Congratulations - that's an amazing but imagine very shocking outcome. Just on HCG, I had two early losses where it turned out in hindsight the HCG hadn't risen quickly enough, so I was concerned with an early BFP and very high HCG that rose super-quick. I couldn't find much about this as opposed to low numbers or slow rising, but I did see the odd mention about possible genetic issues, plus I wondered if it meant twins or a giant baby... Overall, it seemed to be there was no upper limit or rise and it's massively variable even between pregnancies. I just worked out my rate (which was around 2.5-3 x every couple of days) and it's pretty much the same as yours - mine's a healthy singleton, and 'perfectly average' size :) I would just see it as a good indicator of a healthy pregnancy but not dwell on it. Congratulations again!

Thanks @orangejuice .. this gives me peace of mind that hopefully this is a healthy sticky baba. The final outcome will def be surprising whatever happens over the next 9 months. But I suppose after all we have gone through to get here .. we might just be happy to close the door forever on all things fertility related and get to start enjoying life again.. with hopefully our new additions ❤️

You've probably got enough on your plate to be thinking about so hopefully that initial HCG is one thing ticked off from the 'to worry about' list :)
