Natural Cycle - Frozen Embryo Transfer

So I am still on my first round of IVF with the NHS in Liverpool.

In October I had a fresh cycle with my own eggs with my husband. We ended up with two embryos so one was transferred and one was frozen. I had medication and a 5 day transfer. I had numerous positive pregnancy test results but 2 weeks later I started bleeding and that was the end of that round.

We have unexplained fertility and were given the option for a frozen embryo transfer but using a natural cycle this month with the frozen embryo we had in storage so we decided to go for it. I had my transfer today and it went fine. The embryo was graded at A I think she said, and it has already started to hatch early which the nurses seemed pleased about so I am hoping this is a good sign this time around. My first embryo transfer there was no hatching at all so I am hoping this one is strong enough to make it for us. Good luck to everyone on their journeys x

Wishing you lots of luck lovely!

Out of interest, what made you decide to have a natural instead of medicated? I have also made this decision and am hoping for transfer very soon! Xx

Hiya they offered us either medication or natural but we decided to do natural because we thought it was a lot of medication to repeat again on my body in such a short space of time and I know people who have had positive results with a frozen embryo natural cycle. The medication didn’t bother me to be honest. I had pessaries, injections and tablets and I had to take medication for an extra 5 days. What has made you decided to choose natural?x

Ah I see. That makes sense.

Yes my clinic offered me both but my medicated one ended up being canceled as my lining wasn’t reacting to the meds & I had fluid on my cavity so I was referred to a gynaecologist who suggested a natural one following a hysteroscopy which I had 2 weeks ago.

The success rate is the same at my clinic so that’s ok. I may end up having a trigger shot and will use the pessaries for sure. I’m currently doing OPKs so hopefully not too long to wait now 🤞xxx
