It is the chlorogenic acid in coffee that provides benefits for the liver. I would never drink mushroom coffee. Some studies show some mushroom varieties are good for the liver, but they are small studies. Ethiopian varieties of coffee have the highest levels of chlorogenic acid, and light roasts preserve the acid, so I drink light roast Ethiopian coffee for my liver, and darker roasts for my taste buds. Milk in coffee isn't great. Soy milk is better, and is very good for the liver. I put 1 Tablespoon of organic, extra virgin olive oil, a quarter cup of plain soymilk, and sometimes some stevia in my coffee.
