With so many choices between olive oils, which are better for the liver? Is Avocado oil a good option? I would like to try taking a teaspoon once or twice daily rather than taking fish oil capsules.

I would like to know too! Which olive oil is the most economical but still effective? What brand and where do you purchase it? thanks!
I think extra virgin oil is the one recommended but I have heard people speak highly of avocado oil. The reason it's not as common, I believe is its higher cost. In general, extra virgin olive oil is less processed and therefore viewed as healthiest.
While in San Diego at "The Liver Meeting" Wayne and his team told me to get Certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Wayne had used Apollo Olive Oil which helped him get cured. 2 tables spoons. They also said to get fish oil which I order the oil yesterday not pills. I'm sure Wayne and his team will let you know. I thought it would really taste bad taking it, but it's ok. I've had to drink worst things.
Thanks for sharing this information. I had no idea one could order fish oil apart from the capsules. I heard a podcast about fish oil capsules losing their effectiveness by the time they hit the shelves despite the expiration date still being valid. Not sure how accurate this information is but thought I’d try just taking the oil straight up.

I had read where the most pure oil olive oils are the ones that are strictly from one country and that the blends from different countries were not as potent. I think Dr. Berg had done a video on that. What is your opinion on that ? Also since the Apollo brand from their company charges 10.00 shipping on each selection, what is your second choice (if you have one) for those of us on a fixed income. thanks!
The only way to be sure you aren't getting a blend is to buy oil made by a particular grower. The bulk oils, even if from a single country, are blends from many farms. If you are shopping in a supermarket look for the seal of the California Olive Oil Council. Those are products submitted to UC Davis for testing and are of good quality. There is a list of participating growers on their site.
avocados are very good for you so is papaya . My liver Dr. told me no can vegetables. No fruit juices. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis early on 2017 along with diabetes. It’s very hard but I do my best. No cancer in my liver or hepatitis. They say no meat. Try your best. I go to the liver specialist in Jan….i get rechecked again. Stay positive👍👍👍.
Thanks for sharing your journey-
My doctor said that olive oil is the best for the liver, but you'll have to select one for high heat and one for salads etc. Some olive oils can be toxic when put under high heat. He did not recommend seed oils, any seed oils. He also recommended omega 3 supplements, and vitamin e. But please talk to your doctor about what you should and should not take, remember everyone has different levels of issues.
